My car is behaving strangly. It is running ok but when I accelerate it gets jumpy. Sort of like it is pulling back a bit. Now I do actually think I have a hole in my manifold which could cause this but I am going to get it looked at on friday.
I do fill up at tescos so we shall see what happens.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -

I posted something about this on here this morning under another thread.
I have experienced exactly the same problems described on the news and have just picked my car up from a service today.
So far i am £177 out of pocket for the service and £37 out of pocket for having to get to work on the train today.
My mechanic has suggested that i take the car to the manufacturer as the performance had not improved, but luckily for me with a new tank of fuel and a double shot of Redex the engine management system light has gone off on its own accord. I will still be booking it into the manufacturers asap in case there is still some damage, but it is running better now.
I filled up at a Tesco on saturday!
However my vehicle is Deisel!! and the problems i have heard about in the media only talk about Petrol vehicles!
Has anyone else experienced problems with Deisel as well?0 -
They said on the news that BP Ultimate is safe as its from the UK and not affected. I've told my daughter to get that till things are cleared up. She filled hers up at tescos in Nottingham on sat so far nothings showing in hewr car but shes not driven it for long at a time since then but hoping its ok, fingers crossed
Is BP Ultimate ok for all petrol cars and is it much more expensive?Thanx

I had ewactly this problem starting monday last week! Blew my ECU and has been runnign like a dog since. Was booked in for friday but will ask my mechanic to look at it tomorrow first thing.
Have e-mailed BBC news, BBC watchdog, trading standards and called Tesco. Tesco deny all knowledge and say "call back tomorrow"... how helpful!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
You have to save a sample of the petrol for testing and it also said on the news that you can claim compensation from the place you got it from but you obviously have to have proof it was put in. Save sample and recieptsThanx

Myself and 3 colleagues at work have all been experiencing engine problems since using the same supermarket petrol or diesel.
One put it done to an old car,
another down to being due for a service and again the car being older
But this weekend my 2 year old diesel Merc A170 and a colleagues 3 year old petrol Fiat Punto both has serious engine failures.
The Fiat even failed its MOT on Emmissions.
Both cars have been bunny hopping at low speed and then not getting much past 60 when the pedal is floored!!!!
My colleagues mechanic has told him his vehicle needs a new fuel sensor and a full service to try to solve the problem.
It was the mechanic himself who asked whether he had used Tesco Petrol. Apparently Tesco's new Green Petrol contains something call Bioethanol and it is this that is causing damage to some vehicles. The fuel is produced by a company called Greenenergy. (A list of all the Tesco Stores currently stocking this fuel is on the Greenenergy website)
The thing that baffles me is that i use Diesel!!!
There would be no point in keeping any of my diesel as i have now mixed the tank with good quality diesel and redex. I have however got the reeipt from saturday as has my colleague with the fiat. We both work for the local authority so no doubt will be paying our friends at trading standards a visit in the morning.0 -

I have just read an artical that says Tesco gets its petrol From "Greenenegy", the artical also said that Tesco owns 25% of Greenenergy hence the cover up!!!!
Greenenergy's website lists the stores selling Greenenergy Fuel.0 -
Where is the safest to buy from then now
