Angela good luck with that! What an exciting time for you!
Brill efforts everyone!
I took everything out of my 'selling' shelf and decided some of it wasn't worth listing - took those to the charity shop when I went to the bank earlier. Listed 11 items to end Sunday night, and I'll do the rest in similarly small batches, I don't want 60 ending at the same time again, that was too much for me!
Free gallery pics at the moment on ebay!0 -
Thanks Missyg,
Have just been speed reading the thread to get some ideas. Think I might start a list (I like lists)
Have just taken a handful of CDs upstairs to rip onto iTunes so I can start packing these ready for moving.....
Also, have heaps of Architectural Times magazines to get rid of - do you think its worth trying to list them on eBay? There don't seem to be any others on offer on there, not sure whether to chance it or just offer them on freecycle. Ideas anyone???Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Well, thanks partly to the inspiration on here I have attacked my daughter's bedroom today. She was extremely good, and has agreed to pass on all her baby doll stuff, all her polly pocket, barbie and bratz stuff too. We found a lot of Sylvanian Families stuff in Oxfam last week, and I explained to her that the money went to people who needed clean water and help with farming etc. That seems to have had an effect, so she has agreed it will all go to Oxfam. I think I had better get it there quick though, before she changes her mind! I have to tackle a filing cabinet that is in her room next, full of paperwork we no longer need. I aim to reduce it to one of those accordian files, then get it out of her room. I intended to do all of this a year ago, but hey-ho.
Any other teachers on here attacking during the holidays?!

I seem to be going on the slow small steps approach. I've put a couple of bits on freecycle, just need to broaden my horizens a bit more and tackle some really annoying areas. Must get some shredding done as well so i can file new stuff. I'm still thinking about scanning my savings accounts statements to be able to shred them, i never refer back to them but i bet i'll need to if i just get rid of them.0

Off to get the stuff I have decluttered out of my car today, I am de-cluttering our bedroom and the filing cabinet in dd's room today, both big tasks. I feel so much more positive now I have started! It is at least a year I have been meaning to do this. I think I have an excuse in the shape of my wonderful son, but even so....

Morning everyone!
Angela I'm of the opinion that it's usually worth a try on ebay, the most you can lose is your listing feeIf it was me with that lot I might try setting a buy it now price with best offer facility - more likely to get an impulse purchase/offer then. If there really are loads postage might be an issue though... eek!
This thread is great to keep the momentum going and get ideas. Although I'm more or less at the end of my 'journey', I'm hoping to stick around as there's always something to do to keep things looking nice, no matter how small.
Lbnblbnb that is great that your daughter is motivated by such a good cause at her young age!
Lemon Tree - I keep almost 10 years worth of bank statements along with my tax records. I don't think I have ever referred back to any of them!!! They don't take up much room though (one box file for the whole 10 years). I just like to know it's all there in case of query.
Chardonnay! I must have missed what you've been up to while I've been away... 50 parcels, I know what that's like, you must have been busy with it all day! And grrr about your non payer
I have a crate full of maps and books on my selling shelf, and my next job is to go through and get those loaded up in Turbolister to wait for a promotional listing dayOr perhaps it's worth doing them now while gallery pics are free. Decisions!

hiya
how did i miss this thread? i need to declutter like mad as we might be going abroad for a year and renting this house out. even if we don't end up going i'd like to use it as an opportunity to get rid of the rubbish in the house.
made a start yesterday in the children's rooms. they got rid of a bag to the charity shop each and two bags of rubbish in the end. we also emptied a big storage unit in each of their rooms and have moved those to the utility / storage room. their rooms look much bigger now and much tidier.
today is the turn of my wardrobe and two drawers in main bedroom. if i manage this i'll do more later.
chardonnay - 50 parcels!!! that's scary! lol0 -
Mudbath.. You missed it.. cos I'm here and will scare you!!!! lol
Right.. bin day tomorrow.. my wheelies are both bursting.. I don't think I could fit a mouse in there!!
I have my 4 stacking boxes full of recyclables.. those are being collected tomorrow as well I assume.
I have another 2 ebay bits sold which I need to get posted today.. my paypal money still hasn't transferred which is odd.. it has been nearly 2 weeks now... oh well.. it'll get there eventually.. I only want to put it in my savings account so it isn't important.
I filled a binbag from my bedroom this morning.. I found a square of carpet.. I repacked my christmas boxes so I fit loads more in each box..
What else can I fling???
I seem to be running out of stuff which is acceptable to ebay or charity shop...
Ooooh... Ooooh ... I forgot.. I emptied 3 stacking boxes.. straight into a binbag and straight out of the door to the charity shop!!!:D:D:D
I am so pleased I am actually starting to see a difference now.. after 4 years of frenzied flinging and a total of 6 years of flinging I am starting to see progress being made!!
I need to do the boys room today so that should be fun! Hubby has a fire place to demolish!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
