I've figured out some more things to fling so will get started tomorrow, can't wait to get it started and listed on freecycle. Sometimes i struggle with where to start but at least i've got a couple of things to start with and should be able to list even more once i get started.
What's surprised me is just how often i've emptied the recycling bin this weekend, at least once a day, where does it all come from? it's insane!0 -
Hello you lovely lot!
Well I'm back from my skiing holiday (competition win - very MSE!) so I'm ready to start ebaying the bits of stuff left over on my selling shelf now!
It may have been mentioned already but postage prices are going up soon. I know it won't make much difference as the buyer pays postage, but if you have bigger/heavier stuff it might be worth listing it before the new rates come in.
I'll have a little read back on this thread in a minute and see what I've missed. Hope you've all been doing OK!0 -
Have been nagging OH to get rid of some of the books he has , that will never be read again......but he finds getting rid of stuff difficult. Anyway he agreed to get rid of 13 binders full of aircraft magazines that he's not looked at for over 6 years........someone has just collected them after putting them on freecycle. Think he now thinks I'll stop nagging for a while. We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

1 child got up at 6.30, the other 10 mins later:rolleyes: and it's our easter holidays. Am keeping fingers crossed that they will go to bed early so I can tackle paperwork.
Throwing rubbish out of my purse the other day, I came across a dental receipt I hadn't claimed back for so that's £15.90 that will be heading our way. I'm also due some tax back around £400-500 that I've heard nothing about. Ringing and not getting thru to our tax office earlier I came across the letter that gave the source of the money (old pension plan) so I'm going to write instead and enclose photocopy to get the cash back.0 -

That sounds like a very profitable declutter!!We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -
I FOUND A ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:rotfl: :T I know the feeling
Had a major clearout in the bedroom today - hubby hasn't been able to sleep in bed for some time now, and so his bed (all singing all dancing remote controlled bendy thing from the kind people at the Red Cross) has become a bit of a dumping ground for laundry etc.
It's scary how much stuff I cleared off of it - I knew the kids had more summer togs than were in their wardrobe, lol.
Two black bags full of ironing  , another bag for the charity shop, two for the carboot next month and two for the bin/recycling bank (edit - Oh, and about 3 bags worth on freecycle) - Gone!:j
I want to get back to the kitchen tomorrow - did a couple of cupboards over the weekend, only 18 (plus fridge and oven) to go ..., and I (well, the kids actually) need to hit the living room in the morning so the nice lady who's coming to reassess aforementioned hubby and bed doesn't think we live in a very messy toy shop

Hi everyone,
Well, OH and I have decided to sell his house which will mean we will be mortgage-free, will reduce our outgoings by £2000 per month  so we won't have to continue working ourselves ragged and we will be able to move back to my house which I will love (living by the seaside again).
But this means that a major declutter is required as my additional stuff being stored in OH's little 2 bedder has resulted in it being consumed!
So, it looks like I am going to need to start reading through this thread for some ideas.
Some of the smaller items I can clear from this house can be taken to the other house, but of course we have multiple fridges, freezers, washing machines, dining tables, chairs, sofas, beds, TVs, microwaves, garden furniture, lawn-mowers, etc. I also have a motorbike that I need to polish up and sell.
Lord knows what we are going to do with it all!!!
Oh yes, and as much as I love him, my OH will NOT THROW ANYTHING OUT!!! AAAAaaarrrrghhhh! Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
