Hi everyone- well since my last post I've not been well (swelling of joints) and as usual, home life went pear-shaped and trying to catch up.

On the de-cluttering front. Mainly all that is left downstairs is paperwork and upstairs my wardrobe & chest of drawers. I sorted out dds bookcase and some books are ear-marked for charity dumpster. I bought her a large book of traditional fairy stories, so can hopefully get rid of all the small books we have with same stories in. CD's, dvd's and videos are yet to be done.

After Easter hols I am going to bag up, send on, recycle all dd's age 3-4 clothes, they're having just 1 last wear first though.:D

I have a new laptop:T but am currently trying to get used to it, so apologies for any wierd messages or typos.

doesn't look like i'm going to be selling much of what i listed on ebay, maybe it's the wrong time with so many people listing on the cheap weekend. I've only sold 3 things at the moment so that's a bit disappointing. I need to get some more sorted but have a funny tummy today so won't be moving very far or fast.

I was really lucky I managed to sell all 10 dvd's I listed last weekend and have justed listed another 12 so will see how we do!

It's a learning curve with paypal getting myself verified then realising I have to pay a fee! Then realising I'd have to upgrade my account etc etc. I think paying the fee is prob not too bad as it's hassle to get to a bank for me as not local anymore but sadly means I've not made quite as much money after paying ebay and paypal fees but I'm gonna stick it all on a spreadsheet so I can see exactly what I have made and then make sure that it goes in my holiday fund!!

    Hmmm....bit of an ebay query...

I listed a store voucher....£10 voucher and it sold for £9.75...so with the 50p p & p it will have cost the buyer £10.25....why on earth would someone pay that for something worth £10...I just don't get it? (Not complaining mind you!!) Must be some scam at work here surely??? Paid by Paypal tho and its not the first voucher I've sold for so close to face value:confused:

*sorry...probably should be on the ebay thread but those peeps scare me on that thread!* :o

Maybe they are a bit thick and didn't add it up properly??

Or maybe it is for a present and they can't get to the shop and the bus fare into town added into the equation would make it more than the extra 25p they paid?? I'd have to pay £2.40 bus fare.. plus the £10.. = £12.40 for a £10 voucher..

If it is a tesco one they often go for more as they are 4xface value in the deals... or something like that I think..

I have another binbag for charity shop, a bag for nursery and a binbag of rubbish.. again!!! I can't believe it is STILL being thrown from that middle room.. it is practically empty, I've been through it time and again and it is STILL coming.. HELP!!! lol

More decluttering over the weekend, getting rid of some more things to the tip tomorrow, but I'm starting to struggle. I have all the greetings cards I bought and they are taking up loads of space, but they sell, so my excuse is that I am making money :D

Well done to everyone, isn't it great when you sell something on Ebay that you think is worthless ?

Good luck with the sorting this week :T

I know it is stupid but I am feeling a bit stressed.
Have just posted my sofa on Freecycle.
It's about 40 years old, but looks almost new.
Reason? it's rather hard so not very comfortable to sit on.
Trouble is when my parents bought it it was a good one - anyone remember G-Plan?
So I am feeling uncomfortable about getting rid of a 'perfectly good' piece of furniture which I don't use (or like very much)
    Stupid or what!

So far today I've binned a bag of rubbish from under the stairs, a tatty rug which ex-IL's gave me and said "use it or bin it", a broken stunt kite, some almost empty tins of paint, some other smaller bits and pieces, and I'm in the process of dismantling a broken filing cabinet :D Thats just whats going in the bin though, to go on Freecycle, a full tin of paint, an electric heater, and a computer monitor. Plus more things added to the ebay pile :j I can actually walk into my understairs cupboard PROPERLY :D:j

Crafty scholar - don't worry. G-Plan was indeed a very good quality manufacturer - BUT, they made sturdy, firm sofas. They suit the type of person who may have difficulty getting up from a squishy soft seat - particularly old people with dicky hips and joints. My old mother-in-law has a G-Plan suit and she likes to sit upright and feel supported.

Your sofa deserves a good home from someone who will apreciate its quality and its 'comfort'. So, let it go!

    All the best.
