Replacing a WM and TD with a washer/dryer
    i.e. 2 machines > 1 machine does count as clutter clearing doesn't it ?

I'm so pleased I stumbled across this thread, hit the wrong button and here I am. I thought I was alone in struggling through years of accumilated clutter. I have sorted out everything that belongs to our 2 daughters who moved out years ago and delivered every item to them, got fed up with them saying 'Ohhh Mum you can't throw that away' so now they can store it !!!!
I have been in touch with our local council and have donated lots of furniture, kitchen stuff, bedding, toys, books etc. which they pass on to families in need eg. womens refuge and single parents starting afresh after some harrowing experiances. Loads went to charity shops and freecycle. I feel so good I wish I had done this years ago, well done to all of you who have succeeded in doing likewise. Lets keep up the good work.

Hi all, hope everyone is doing OK? Well I've now had a week and a bit of being 'finished', have to admit I keep looking around for things to tackle but there is nothing! Everything is very streamlined/practical/minimal and it feels great.

So I am just enjoying this for a while but I will be back, there is still a shelf of stuff to go on ebay after a couple of weeks break and I still want to do an inventory of what I have left - seeing that typed up will probably make me realise I still have far too much stuff!

Well done to everyone since I last posted and I have to say especially Nicki! Hope you have fun rearranging etc! Best of luck for your studies and the future.

What a top idea missyg think I will do the same rather than peering at things in plastic storage boxes! Had 42 items coming on ebay over the free weekend 14 of them have gone as I varied the days-some of the prices I was a bit disappointed with but hey they have gone. Got rid of loads of Batman stuff DS had grown out of and bless he is giving the money to sport relief! Have still gots loads to get rid of so am plodding on regardless. Have got a load of stuff for Red Cross but can't take it yet as some rotten **** set it on fire and they won't be up and running in their temp shop for another couple of weeks yet. Am off work for a week during Easter little miss in in nursery for 3 of those days so watch out pigpen I will be doing the bin bag fling big style

Ooh I have a bid on one of my ebay bits.. excellent.. I have a few more bits I need to get listed as well.. 39 on at the moment all ending on various dates.. I rather like the fixed price listings rather than the auction.. I'll have to edit all my listings on turboloster though to make them fixed prices.. never mind!

I am here to confess I've filled a second bag of stuff for the freecycle lady who wants Tiddles outgrown coat.. it started with a coat and is now several dresses and pinafores, tights, vests, t shirts and pj's.. saves a trip to charity shop I guess!! And I know I have at least 3 more boxes in the shed I can list.. and they'll all need washing as they've been stored forever!

    Do you never stop????????

    Quick rant!
washer/dryer delivered this morning and the very nice men offered to put the WM outside for me. About 12.30 notice a piece of paper on mat - BHF collectors had picked up WM but left note saying 'no TD'

IT IS IN THE HOUSE!!! so !!!!!! did they not ring the bell!!!

OK I did think about putting a note on top of the WM but assumed they would ring. Phoned them - got answer machine - phoned again 4.30 still got answer machine!!
    Rant over - sorry.

Havent updated here for a week or 2 but my downstairs is now tidy and waiting for the next stage of the great decluttering. This week I am emptying the kitchen cupboards and drawers. I must have about 5 broken tin openers and corkscrews and I know there are tins and packets in my cupboards that we moved here with 3 years ago! Will also make a start with upstairs although that is going to be a much slower process! x x
