Maybe use them as basis for making Christmas wreathes - to be sold for extra money. ? Saw something before about bending out into a circle I think to do that?

'Fraid only use I have come across for them directly is chopping bits off them and using for making dowsing rods - well you could always get O.H. dowsing for "lost treasure" on the beach:D :rotfl:

  • I have a filled bin bag thanks to you lot, I am going to have a go at filling another one in the next half hour before a hot bath and an early bed. I know it isn't very OS, but I have given up on ebaying things. I have had some success, but I just don't have the time. The way I have justified it to myself is that I used to give Oxfam a monthly donation when we were both working, so if I give Oxfam my ebayable stuff it is a bit like a donation.
No ideas about coat hangers, I have seen them offered on Freecycle, but I can't remember if anyone wanted them!

I always send hangers to charity shop and they usually seem quite grateful.. mugs!! lol

I did 45 minutes in the middle room.. I filled.. 2 binbags and a box for the wheelie bin and 4 binbags for charity shop.. and the room is still half full!!

I have takers on the desk, buggy and tread mill.. so now I am going to freecycle the gold curtain pole.. the bricks outside and a shoe shorage cupboard AND a snowsuit!!!!!!!!!!

i would say charity shops are a safe bet for rehoming the coat hangers.

round here i also see shops putting them in a box outside, with a sign saying please help yourself, and they always seem to rehome themselves. if you get a lot of passing human traffic, that might be an idea to try on a dry day?

Now I feel I belong here.....:rotfl: Have 3 plastic bowls adjacent as rain/hail showers making drips above my book shelves. Have cosy office upstairs in old cottage and roof problems are unfortunately normal! Velux windows are very noisy in this weather.
Enjoying this thread, thanks to all...
