I seriously need to de-clutter, you are all an inspiration. I am aiming to do masses of de-cluttering over Easter (begins 21st of March for me, I am a teacher), but reading your posts I think I might aim for a bag a day (a bit vague that, I might begin by aiming for a bin bag a day and might scale it back to a carrier bag if need be!).
    Any top tips?

I am also hoping to do lots of sorting and so on at Easter [teacher too]. Whereabouts in Norfolk are you? I taught for many yrs in Norwich

Hi Viv, I have noticed your posts on the Shabby Chic thread and that you were a teacher!! I live near Diss, but work in West Norfolk. I worked in Bury for years, at KEGS. I teach English and Media, which I love, but gives me too many excuses for books, films and paper.....!

I live just down the A140 from Diss but in Suffolk. I love going to Diss and feeding the ducks.

i'm feeling a bit low after my high of yesterday. Although i listed stuff on freecycle only one lot has gone, and there's been no interest in the other bits. I did take some stuff to my sisters for her and her daughters but as i've been scrap booking today and card making yesterday i feel that this place is even more of a tip than it was before. I should have made an effort to list my rubber stamps but i've had puter problems this arvo which has been so frustrating.
I've just decided that some things i can do quite easily is head to the tip next sunday. i've got 3 big sacks full of stuff that needs to go in the garden waste bit so though it won't make the inside better at least i'll know i've done something. This week i'm going to tackle some each night. The frustrating thing is that i need to find somewhere to store the stuff for the car boot, i think that's part of what's getting me down, although i've sorted it to go it won't go for a while until i can do my first car boot.

Sorry for waffling, i was on such a high yesterday and i've just plummited.

  • Yeah managed to sell 9 things on ebay after all:j all paid apart from 2 and all wrapped and postage paid through paypal. Not sure if any of you pay for postage through paypal we decided to do it as we were spending a fortune paying out of our pockets at the post office. Have got another pile of stuff to list which I will be doing through auctiva

tattycath Auctiva is great you can schedule for free as well saving another 6p

Kaleoma-thanks for the tip. Oh sells for a living on website and ebay-he has selling manager pro??? and gets scheduling for free either way, but i have to agree it's much easier and more convenient with auctiva.
I still have over 40 items on ebay from the clear out I am having and have sold another book on buy it now tonight!!! All my listings are quite staggered as I list when I have time (I also list for my OHs business-as well as some of the packing!!!)-back to it in the morning, but I get a skive on tuesday as I am taking DD to drs because her blood pressure is sky high!!! (well, it was last week 144/99!!!) so need to get that sorted asap!!!

Ipswich is very close. i work (spit) the other side of it.

Just done a bit of a mini tidy, after being attacked by craft paper jumping off the shelves (boy did that hurt!) so there's a small bag ready to go with the dustbin men, unfortunately it's all from a draw so you can't see what i've done.
