I live just down the A140 from Diss but in Suffolk. I love going to Diss and feeding the ducks.

I love the ducks, have you seen the cartoon strip in the Diss Express about them?
I am sat up late worrying about work, so am going to see if I can fill my first bin bag. Got to be better than getting stressed!

Hey everyone, hope we're in good shape for another week of sorting out! :D

Spendless, sorry about your PC, I hope you can get back online properly soon. Thanks for posting up your master list for the next few weeks, great that you're close to being finished!

lbnblbnb, hi there! Top tip from me is to try to do something each day, no matter how small, but don't beat yourself up if you take a day off!

Lemon Tree, don't lose heart... what about getting some archive boxes or stacking crates for your car boot stuff and finding a corner in a room where it doesn't matter if you stack them high? It is only temporary, but I know it looks nasty. Mine are in boxes in my lounge right now!

Kaleoma, great your stuff sold! :D You needn't have worried! I've never looked at paying for postage online, I'd love to do it that way but can you still organise proof of posting when you do that?

I still have the last stragglers from my CD collection on ebay, all buy it nows, I've been in and lowered the prices this morning and added "best offer" to all of them. Once the car boot is out of the way anything that's left is going to Freecycle.

Starting a new crate for ebay (stuff too good for car boot), but not just yet as March is a busy month for me with other things so it'll be late March before I do the next lot.

Good luck with your efforts this week guys!

and postage paid through paypal. Not sure if any of you pay for postage through paypal we decided to do it as we were spending a fortune paying out of our pockets at the post office.

    Another Auctiva fan here! :j

Oooh kaleoma...I've always wondered about organising postage online using paypal. How does it work.....should ask on the ebay thread but they seem a bit scary over there:o Do you have to have special labels to print the postage on? Also, how do you get proof of posting, (as already asked). Once you have your package all sorted can you just put the smaller stuff in the post box or does it all have to go into the Post Office itself? Mind you, my calculations of what the charges should be always seem to vary from what the P.O.'s idea is. (Must get new scales). Any pointers would be much appreciatedicon7.gif

    TIA

Missyg yes you can still get proof of postage each one prints out as a new sheet of paper and the postage one comes out after that-you still have to get the proof of postage stamped at the Post Office, but I looked at it when we had £400 in the paypal account and we were spending £30 a week on postage kind of defeated the object a bit :money:

The first time I used it was a bit cumbersome-in your items sold bit click on print postage label and it takes you to paypal-log in in the usual way and you are directed to the item you have selected. All the address details from the seller and you are shown here, select the method of posting, select the right sizr for your item; type in the weight, I have got a set of digital scales in the office and I weight the parcel after I have wrapped it and then add about 10 grammes for good measure-and hey presto it calculates the postage click to print and out pops a proof of postage and then on a seperate sheet is the address label, complete with return address and the postage.

I don't use special labels just A4 paper and then trim down. It's a bit of a faff the first couple of times but a great money saver! And you do still need to get the proof of postage stamped at the post office

  • Miro to clarify you can put straight in the post but must take to post office to have proof of posting verified
