    Hi all!

Been round the house this morning looking for final car boot items, and I've also been through my wardrobe. I have 29 items of clothing left and that's including what's in the wash and what I'm wearing now :rotfl: (but not including undies and sleepwear).

Still sorting out the files on my hard drive, lots of deleting and backing up going on! Will try to finish that today, then my email programme (Outlook) needs a good clearout and I'll be updating my contact lists etc.

Might give my maps another prune, I'd like to get them down to a small stack - if I can't pick them all off the shelf using just one hand then I've got too many!

Clutterfree, no earth movement here (Surrey). I'm not sure I have anything much left to be 'displaced' around the house anyway! Glad you and your house are OK, and your parents Tattycath (hope you feel better soon). What region are you in Pigpen? Close to the centre of the action by the sound of it.

Tibbie's Mum, I hoard boxes "for ebay parcelling" too! They have been very useful lately but when I ran out, the local newsagents shop were kind enough to give me some more so I'll probably rely on them in future!

Ches, that's what I call a great idea about the hangers! Thank you! :D

Hi Moneypooh, you have things well underway, great to have another person join us!

Excuse me for interupting this thread as I am a lurker rather than a poster. I keep (plastic/wire) hangers in our suitcases and take them with me when we go away. There is never enough hangers supplied in hotels in this country so I use them and leave them.

    fab idea!!!!! :T :T :T :T

on the hanger topic, i always find prevention is better with cure, and if aked when buying clothes now always decline hangers.

another way to get rid of them, if you know anyone who has a business doing ironing from home, they always seem to be grateful for them. i get rid of a lot of my surplus this way by giving them to a friend who irons for a living

Folks, can you give me any advice on what sort of price I could ask for a dinner service at a car boot sale?

6 each of cups, saucers, dinner plates, side plates and dessert bowls in Royal Victoria design. Excellent condition (so much so that I'm considering packing it away and keeping it as a spare set - even though I don't believe in keeping things "just in case")

Individual plates from this design are listed on ebay at £2-£4 each. Is a tenner for the lot too cheap/too expensive for a boot sale?

Most of the other stuff I'm selling is of the 50p variety! :D

missyg.. I always find at crap boots people never want to pay more than £2-3 for anything.. but they all scrotes here.. you could start it at £10 and reduce.. or ebay undividually.. later.

Ooh.. the treadmill has been taken.. the desk has been taken.. the snowsuit has been taken.. and the bricks are being collected tomorrow!!!!!!!!

i've got someone to give one set of magazines to, listing them on freecycle didn't really work, i may try the other one which is local.
I've been finishing off toiletries recently so that's less clutter around, I supose it's all baby steps and eventually they'll all add up to one giant step.

Thanks Pigpen - I'll give this one some more thought, not really interested in letting it go for 'pennies' or a coupla quid (unlike everything else!)

Mary hasn't posted here for a few days, hope you're OK Mary if you're reading?

I've finished the hard drive clearout and the email (Outlook) clearout. Few more backups to do, I ran into technical problems with my DVD-drive today but it's sorted now!

The school is asking for leftover emulsion paints :D So I can sort those out in the shed tomorrow, everything except my newly-painted rooms ones can go. Great timing!

I've paid my ebay fees today (over £70, eek!), so I'm all squared up there apart from the last few cd sales still going through. I'm going to leave a gap and then start my ebaying again towards end March/beginning April (hopefully there may be a whiff of a promotional listing day by then...)

Hope it's all going well for everyone else too :D
  • I've just turned on More4 to a programme called World of Complusive Hoarders, and OMG some people are very strange!!!!!! My box problem was nothing. I can't even bring myself to tell you what one man had stored in his shed, but it was foul!!!

I have a WM and TD (both ten years old) - do I need to keep a spin dryer as well 'just in case'?
