Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

  • i've read this whole thread and am so pleased that hopefully you may have found your birth mother! definately send the letter!

i have an older brother who was adopted at around 18 months old for reasons i won't go into but my mum has brought us up telling us about our brother and we have tried various options of tracing him with no success. This breaks my mum's heart, if she ever got in touch with him it would quite possibly be the best thing in the world for her.

wishing you all the best! x

I wish you would hurry up 7DW! I saw this thread a few days ago and cannot stop thinking about it! :rotfl:
I really wish you well in your search 7DW. You sound like such a lovely lady who depsite having such a heartwrending decision to make, will still think of others before yourself and consider their feelings.
I love the story that your mum told you about the lady crying. Just shows what a lovely lady your mum was and where you must get it from. Although your mum was a non believer it just shows how christians do not have a monopoly on goodness.
I am sure that if you do make contact with your mum she will be proud of the way you turned out and will hopefully want to be part of your life.
Best wishes, and please, please keep us updated.
