Parking Eye Parking Charge Notice

My original post was back in May.
I haven't been back as I followed the advice that most people gave which was to ignore everything sent to me.
I've had the first charge notice, the second one telling me that as I hadn't responded the charge was up to £90 per incident and I've just had the third which is from Roxburghe Debt Collectors telling me the charge is now £177 per incident.
Without talking down to me (please) I'm still tying to decide on my best course of action (I will under no circumstances be paying any money!)
1 : ignore them completely, no response
2 : send a response denying liability
It seems like #1 risks someone saying I haven't taken appropriate action to defend myself - why wouldn't I write back denying liability?
But #2 risks them thinking I'm taking them seriously.
Views?
Just continue to ignore. Do not contact them at all. It will all stop before long.0 -
If you make contact you will get more threats as they know someone is reading and could become a payer if they do a limited one-time only offer of just £60 per incident.0

Thanks both.
I shall stand firm and not reply.
Interestingly I consulted a solicitor friend who in turn passed my enquiry onto a Crime Executive. (I'm not sure what one of those is.)
His rather curt view was that I had ignored the signs and they had me bang to rights!

I was parked in a FREE shopping car park and as it was very busy difficult to get a parking space. I found one but as the two cars either side of me were parked "not in their bay" it meant I had to park with one tire just over the white lines. I didnt think this is a criminal offence and definately not worth £60 which is what I was charged for.
Has anyone experienced this?0 -
Lots...Assuming its a car park run privately and not a council one then its ok to just ignore the ticket and following threatening letters etc.
If its a council one then come back and let us know. Look at the stickies to see the letter trail from your favourite PPC.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

its not a 'criminal offence', in fact its not any offence.
If you were in a shopping centre car park, then we presume the 'ticket' was fro ma private parking company, and not the Council?
If so, then throw it away and ignore it, its completely unenforceable and you owe them nothing. Then ignore the chain of scary looking but toothless threatograms they'll send you over the nxt few months, promising fire, brimstone and eternal damnation if you dont pay, because theres nothing they can do about it. They cant take it to court, itll get laughed out. Court rulings confirming the complete legal inability to offer parking, form a contract or pursue you for any such charge have been multfarious in the last few months.**** I hereby relieve MSE of all legal responsibility for my post and assume personal responsible for all posts. If any Parking Pirates have a problem with my post then contact me for my solicitors address.*****0 -
They have just installed one of these at our local supermarket, it is all people are talking about on the local forum. I must admit I didn't realise how it worked and when there today read the notice, it states that there is no return within an hour. This is not so good as occasionally I have popped to get something only to realise as soon as I got home that I had forgotten something else.
The other problem we have is that people were/are using the car park as a park and ride, i.e. leaving their car, and sharing a lift with someone, our estate is right on the junction of the M1.
However, having visited the supermarket several times since the installation of this camera it appeared that it has made no difference as the car park is still full to bursting, but the local Budgens isn't!
Now I understand why, obviously the system is a complete waste of time.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far
+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

I like many others on here have been 'troubled' by Parking Eye on St Peters Retail Park Mansfield. Already coughing up a large fine for staying 10 minutes over on a 30 minute free park as i didn't realise the change to the parking regulations when these robbers first took over I have now been issued another fine for not paying when I know I paid to park there for 2 hours. I unfortunatley threw my ticket stub in the bin (that was emptied the morning my fine letter was received). I know people suggest I ignore this letter but I feel very angry about this when i know I've paid the money to park. Any suggestions people. I emailed them yesterday evening to tell them I'd paid but you just get a standard email back saying any disputes should be made in writing.0
