Its best to start your own thread.

Can you do that and say how long ago you received your ticket in it?
  • sorry, not sure where to but will look again.

    Hi,
I know this is an old thread but I also have received a parking fine for the same retail park.
I went there for the first time and just assumed I could park as i am registered disabled and have a blue badge in the window. I guess i should never assume any more. I shopped in home bargains and also poundland. Still have my receipts from both shops. I asked someone about parking and they said it was free for an hour. I thought I would be ok, but as I have mobility problems it took me a bit longer than expected to get around. I ended up parking for 1 hour and 18 minutes. I am now worried sick as got a fine for £85 or discounted if i pay sooner. I am on disabilty benefit and pension credit and barely have enough to live on let alone pay for fines. I am worried sick as I just don't have the money to pay this with.
I found this site and have been reading some of the threads here.
I am scared to just ignore it in case they end up making me pay more. It would just be my luck for this to happen.
Please can anyone advise me. It is making me ill worry about how to find the money.
    Thank you for any advice.

This is an old, long-dead pre-POFA thread and your situation is quite different to the OP's.

Priivate ticketing of vehicles involving disabled drivers/passengers has its own courses of action that could well be different to many other people.

You really do need to start your own thread for the best assistance. The big blue "New Thread" button is clearly visible, high-up on the forum mainpage.
  • I came on here back at page 2 of this thread in May 2012 when I received 2 tickets from Parking Eye for stopping for short periods in a car park in Chesterfield. The car park had been free for a long time previously - but a machine had appeared and I didn't notice it.

I never ever left the vehicle (it was a quick lunchtime smoke) and my longest stay was 38 minutes. On all occasions the car park was 90-100% empty - it's not a useful place to park for anything, which is why I used to go there - I figured I was inconveniencing NO-ONE.

Then I got 2 demands for £90 each.
    I consulted this site.
I received some helpful advice as well as a few dismissive responses along the lines of "how can you be so stupid as to even think about paying". (Really, guys, bullying people into not paying is no better than bullying people into paying.) This was my first visit as it is for most people so I was looking for support!

Anyway the letters kept on coming - I think I got 5 reminders for each "offence" - and the amounts reached £200 each. There was something that looked like a pre-Action notice but probably wasn't and there was a lot of Statute quoted.

I held my breath and IGNORED EVERY ONE!!!
No reply, no appeal, no acknowledgement.
    And they stopped.
Nothing heard from them for at least 6 months.

SO my advice to you is - if you think you are being unfairly milked for what may have just been an innocent error - brave it out.

    It worked for me.
