I'm new to posting so bear with me.

I've read advice over the last few weeks since receiving a parking charge notice from ParkingEye the middle of October and I've been ignoring the letters and this morning received a county court claim form (summons I think they use to be called). I'm the keeper and was the driver and to be honest I did ignore the signs and stayed a few hours over whilst I went into town. My scanner isn't working but I'll try scan the docs on to here if I can at work in the next day or so....

I'm thinking of paying it now as I'm mad busy and doubt I could defend it...I've been back to the car park and there are signs everywhere.

    Regards

Did you receive an appeal form, rejection letter and popla number?
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • Seems very quick to be attempting court in under 2 months. Something is fake here.

Probably best to give the benefit of the doubt, because the advice would be the same nonetheless.

They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I haven't got it on me, but it had Northampton something and I'm sure it was stamped with something...I'll have a look at pepipoo

Course you haven't, and you will never show the scan of it either because you dreamt it up.

PPC troll - DO NOT FEED. Obvious from the first post. At least make a sensible attempt to get the timing right!

  • Out of interest, did you manage to not have to pay anything and did you get numerous threatening letters?
I am in a similar position now!

    [/B]UOTE=Lozgreenfield;53847527]Hi All
Just had a 'invoice' for parking at St Peters Retail Park in Mansfield - I was there from 19:13 until 19:59 they have photographic evidence of this! However, I honestly did not see the Pay and Display signs or the Meters! I just parked and dashed into TK Max. Do I pay or not - I was obviously in the wrong for not getting any ticket from the machines at all. Genuinely didn't see the notices or the machines - havn't used this park before. The fine is for 80 (pounds) paid by the:rotfl 27.06.2012 it is $50 (pounds, american keyboard)
    Any advice would be great
    Thanks[/QUOTE]

Did they manage not to pay anything??!! You do realise I hope that it's a scam, a fake PCN followed by a lot of junk mail!

Of course they never paid the thing!

    There are 2 choices:

    a) IGNORE IT, as ever, playing snap with the threatograms that match our sticky thread 'PPC letter chains' (near the top of this parking forum which you can look at and current read threads on - it's just one click away, as stated in my signature below) :)

    or

    b) Appeal it with help from here in how to word it, and insist on a referral to the POPLA appeals service if it's not cancelled. Costs the PPC £27 plus, costs you nothing, it's not binding on you but it is binding on the PPC. If you do not win your appeal then revert to ignore mode.

This option is for those who want to fight back, cost the PPC money and test the POPLA system whilst also getting their PPC's tactics scrutinised; start by reading threads about POPLA. Appealing is also a perfectly reasonable thing to do and you can word it full of legal challenge questions to put the scammers on the spot and trip them up when they don't answer the points.

Recent posters have had great success where their case is clearly a very unfair ticket (such as disabled overstay or slight overlap of a white line, etc.) by using email and wording it not as an appeal but a complaint, and copying in the retailer/landowner to that complaint. :)

Finally, if anyone gets any fake PCN anywhere in the UK in a retail, cinema, fast food or Supermarket car park then even if you choose to ignore the scammers then COMPLAIN IN WRITING to the CEO of the company on site if you were a customer. Do not appeal to the retail park, complain about this protection racket against their paying ex-customers.

HI I am a new poster and need some advice. My partners car broke down in the carpark of Aldi, and repair took over two hours of the free parking time.
Now he has had a parkingeye charge notice in the post.
I was going to appeal via email but the email address they printed was wrong and whilst trying to google a correct address, I noticed this forum.
They have got a picture of the car and number plate on the charge note.
He has lost the receipt for grocery purchased at Aldi but has a receipt for the new car battery also purchased after leaving the carpark.
I have abandoned the appeal after reading the posts on here.
I have however contacted Aldi for help and advice and have been promised a callback tomorrow from the management.
This is the first time this has happened and I was anxious.
Might I expect some leniency due to the circumstances that lead to this?

Abandoned the appeal? Even though we say that people should appeal? See the whole forum, not this thread (if you've only read this you've read old info):

Start your own thread please if Aldi don't cancel the thing when you complain loudly.

Hi Coupon mad, Yes I have only read this thread so only understood it as ignore and an appeal would be waste of time, still haven`t heard from Aldi so will ring Hq tomorrow. Thanks for your link.
  • Hi,
I know this is an old thread but I also have received a parking fine for the same retail park.
I went there for the first time and just assumed I could park as i am registered disabled and have a blue badge in the window. I guess i should never assume any more. I shopped in home bargains and also poundland. Still have my receipts from both shops. I asked someone about parking and they said it was free for an hour. I thought I would be ok, but as I have mobility problems it took me a bit longer than expected to get around. I ended up parking for 1 hour and 18 minutes. I am now worried sick as got a fine for £85 or discounted if i pay sooner. I am on disabilty benefit and pension credit and barely have enough to live on let alone pay for fines. I am worried sick as I just don't have the money to pay this with.
I found this site and have been reading some of the threads here.
I am scared to just ignore it in case they end up making me pay more. It would just be my luck for this to happen.
Please can anyone advise me. It is making me ill worry about how to find the money.
    Thank you for any advice.
