He can't answer you. The Forum Team have sorted him. Resume the conversation when he returns with a new identity.

    Or rather, don't.

Just read the whole thread (and a ferw others) with interest. Received a 'fine' for £90 (or £60 if paid within about a week) today and came on here looking for answers.
I plan to ignore future threats as suggested. Has anyone got copies of the sort of thing I'm likely to receive in the post following on from my lack of response, and what's the rough timescale of the onslaught of threats? Thanks in advance :)

(Just to add, my partner is worried about the fact that the compay have our car and address details on record. Has anyone ever had any follow up visits to their actual home?)

No, of course they don't visit. I think they would be too worried about getting filled in by some angry driver.

Look on the Forum list, second from top, to see a thread with the sort of garbage you will receive.

Have a look at the stickys at the top of thethread page, there is a huge list of all the letters etc. No one will call at your address. I would recommend you both read more of these threads and follow the advise given to others. Would be useful to know gave you the ticket.

The more unpleasant threats usually include mentioning that a CCJ might be issued, that bailiffs might be appointed, and that bad things might happen to your credit rating. For things to actually get to this stage, they would have to take you to court, win the case and then you’d have to refuse to pay. After 28 days a CCJ would be issued and the bailiffs would be appointed, both by the court not the PPC.

This is possible. It’s also possible that the world’s going to end on 21 December. The latter is more likely.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

Yes top of the forum is this thread, scroll down to find yours, then play snap when the scammers write to you. Should take a couple of weeks by the way

Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I've just received one of these from ParkingEye for a Welcome Break service area. I did do what their photos show, I was there 5.5hrs and didn't pay the £8 charge, not willfully, the meeting just took longer than I realised it would, and I genuinely didn't think about any parking charges that would need paying...

So is ignoring their letters the way to go still? Happy to pay them the £8 charge which is proprotionate but definitely not the £60 or £90 or even £120 they say it will rise to, how is a £30 admin fee proportionate given most admin people will earn minimum wage, it won't take them 5 hours to send my letters.... This kind of thing really annoys me BUT I really can't afford to pay any increased charges, well any charges really... Knowing my luck I'll be the poor idiot they take to court...

Any help or advice much appreciated, given I don't really have a defence. Should I write the letter to them from Martin's guide using disproportionate charges as the reason or do naff all?

Surely something should be done about the DVLA giving my private information to these companies, can I complain to anyone about that?

    Thanks in advance :)

    You are correct, Just ignore
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Thanks Trisontana... I'm used to getting crap letters from dodgy debt collector types so no skin off my nose... However, I have read somewhere it can impact on your ability to park in other parking eye managed places, how an earth could that possibly work? I def won't be going to those services again anyway haha!

Theoretically, any LANDOWNER could bar you from their premises. Just like a pub! However Parking Eye don't own the land so don't have that right. Anyway if they don't know who was driving they won't know who to bar... don't give them credit for power they don't have: their actual powers (bullsh*t aside) are ZERO.
