    Morning Everyone

    Happy Birthday to all celebrating

Still feeling very down. Broke open 2 bottles of wine last night, which is not good. Dinner turned out fine, which was a relief

Came very close to not coming into work today as I'm feeling so low. But if I don't work, I don't get paid, and I've an hour's overtime coming to me this evening.

Brought some of the recycing with me to get it out of the house, plus if it's clinking around in my boot, then it's going to remind me to do it.

    Hope everyone's ok

With all you've had to cope with lately I'm not surprised you are down. Is there no way you can take some time out for yourself?

Right I am off to boot DH out of bed and just because he stayed in bed until noon he can do the school run at 3 :D

    Hi again

Bargain_Rzl - you deserve a treat, 14" TV isnt easy. Whether LCD or not is the question, according to the Techie board this piccy isn't always better and there are some v good dealts on CRT's. However the way forward is digital, so make sure that whatever you choose is a Digital TV. :j

Shez  Fancy dragging me back onto the weight loss routine. I've lost all umphh! It's not that I don't know what to eat, or that I cannot control my apetite, I can, but I just get so bored. When I was 25 to lose weight under hospital dietician I had to go down to 800 calories, and I did more exercise then, some 30 years later, it's going to be even harder, and the choice on 800 calories is v. limited. I did have some success with the Atkins a couple of years ago, but cannot get that to kick in now, so at a loss and need to address it.

    Paulie_Girl fingers crossed for you.

Well done to Miss_MiniF :j :j Maybe you need to give your DH some lessons in hoovering MiniF

Moggins How about asking for the same amount for yourself whenever your OH gets a new "toy", fairs fair after all! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I wish I could, but on the couple of occassions I've actually left the house for a reason other than doing the shopping or going to work, I've been given a huge guilt trip. I've got through a month, 2 more to go. Well that's what I'm hoping, it could be more

    I've been Money Tipped!
Well back from my artic tour of freezer! Very happy as I have found some of the Christmas pate and lots of chocolate cake! :j Well it has to be used up soon to make room in the freezer so whats a girl to do? ;)

I have found a recipe for guinness bread so will try that out soon. Rzl you have started me thinking of making Guinness cake now so after a bit of hunting around I came across this:-

    GRANDPA'S GUINNESS CAKE RECIPE
    8 oz butter
    8 oz soft brown sugar
    4 eggs, lightly beaten
    10 oz pln flour
    2 tsp mixed spice
    4 oz mixed peel
    8 oz raisins
    8 oz sultanas
    4 oz chopped walnuts
    Large supply of Guinnness

Open first bottle of guinness and fill a glass. Take a long drink to gain strength. Cream butter & sugar together until light. Slowly beat in the eggs. Fold in the flour and mixed spice. Take a further drink of Guinness to raise spirits. Add raisins, sultanas, mixed peel and mix well.

Finish off first bottle of Guinness. Open 2nd bottle of Guinness and measure out 4 tablespoons into a clean glass, drink to test for strength. Measure a further 4 tablespoons of Guinness into mixture and stir until a soft dropping consistency forms (mixture not you!)

Turn the mixture into prepared 7" round tin. Bake in oven for 1 hour. Drink more Guinness to pass time. Reduce heat and bake for a further 1 & 1/2 hours. You will probably need to open more Guinness to cool you down.

Allow cake to cool while drinking more Guinness. Remove the cake from tin. Give cake drink of Guinness by pricking base with a skewer (cake, not you) and spooning on 4 - 8 tablespoons of Guinness. Join the cake in a drink of Guinness (just to be sociable). Place cake in an airtight tin or wrap in foil. Drink rest of Guinness. Not less than 1 week later open tin and eat cake. Do not drive or breath on anyone within 3 hours of enjoying or making this cake.

    Catz x

  • (((scuzz)) hope you feel better soon petal

Thanks for the hugs guys, it is a real worry. Not just in terms of whether the house will go through, but also, if it does, and things don't quite work out with getting a new job, I'm in a very sticky spot.

And then I think about the job that I might get, and wonder whether I'll be happy there or if i'm just taking it cos I'm desperate.

Think that might be why I slept in this morning, all that stuff whirling round my head til the small hours (do you know that birds were chirping at 2:30 this morning?)

On a different tack : There's a Bravissimo on Grey Street in Newcastle. Lovely Geordie lasses are really helpful. I'm a long term convert, being a 34H!!! But once she knows her size, their website is great too. Bought stuff in the sales from there.

    Much love, PG

Right, i have been browsing for TVs :D

I do not need a particularly big TV because my living room is not huge. I think a 32" screen would look a bit "much" IYKWIM. I've been browsing 26" models, and 32" just in case, but then I found this total bargain at 23" :j

Now, not sure if 23" widescreen might be too small, so think I'll get in touch with the shop and see if they can find me one to have a look at.

I'm not fussed about having a digital tuner because my Freeview recorder already has twin tuners. Or am I missing a big disadvantage somewhere?
