OS daily thread 26th February 2007

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all!

I have been to bed but I have no notion of sleep. I think it's because I'm worrying about getting up early in the morning.

As many of you already know I don't do mornings……..but today is Mr Pink's birthday so I don't have the chance to opt out. I have to be up (and smiling) before they all go off to school and work…..6.30am. _pale_

I don't know if any of you remember the Topsy and Tim books but there was one about a birthday and their [strike]sickeningly sweet [/strike] mum made them birthday pancakes for breakfast. This seemed like a good idea at the time when dd was small (and I was young and didn't go to work) but unfortunately it's become a family tradition here on birthdays so I will be up at the crack of dawn making bleeping pancakes.

My present to Dh was a weekend away on our own. It was supposed to be the weekend just passed but because I had a dose of the dreaded lurgy it's been postponed until the 10th March…..at least we have that to look forward to. The children have got him bits and pieces he enjoys; car mags, chocs, fudge and cds, all chosen and paid for themselves. He'll be delighted.

Apart from the usual stuff, my main plan for today is to bake a birthday cake………..I’m rubbish at baking, so please wish me luck.

I hope you all have a good day.

Pink

Morning Pink! and everyone else when you all wake up!

I too am having trouble sleeping, went out yesterday to help celebrate ds's gf birthday and got home and fell asleep at 7pm so have now had my 8 hrs! Oh well I'm using the time wisely and surfing the site learning as much as possible.

I do hope Mr Pink has a lovely birthday, if only you could delegate the pancake making! You must try to get some sleep though Pink!

    Have a lovely day everyone!

Hiya Pink!! And hiya Catznine!!! And hello to all who follow.

I have managed the grand total of three hours sleep, and sit here far too wide awake for it to be natural. I'm not sure what exactly is nibbling away at the back of my mind but there's definitely something.

Life has been v.uneventful of late, and would make for rather boring reading if I were to share it with you. I do read most days though, and while I don't post I do still wish all of you all the best.

Ugh this has turned into an apology!!! Sorry!!! (There I go again!!).

Will try and blow out a few more Zzzzzs in a minute. Have a happy Monday everyone.

    Happy birthday to Mr Pink.

    Morning Everyone

Pink-Winged - Topsy and Tim were my favourite reads when I was little. Happy Birthday to Mr Pink-Winged

On Saturday afternoon hubby and I decided to pop out to the local pub for a drink. I ended up feeling a bit worse for wear and ended up tucked up in bed around 9:30 on Saturday night :rotfl:

Yesterday we went out and had a wander round the shops and then stopped at a car showroom to have a look for a new car. How pushy are car sales people? The man there told us if we didn't order the car we were looking at yesterday we would be waiting at least 3 months. I told him that was fine we were in no hurry ;)

Another day at work today. Monday's are always busy so usually quite a quick day.

Tonight I have some clothes that should be dry to put away and then the usual quick tidy up.

    Bye for now :D

    Happy Birthday Smoky Babe!!

Happy Birthday also to Mr Pink..... Do you get pancakes made for you on your birthday pink winged???? (I'm betting not, lol - funny how these bloomin traditions seem to include a tradition that Mum isn't included eh?)

    Good morning everyone!!
Sorry I've not been around a couple of days - I know I said I was going to crack on with my homework, but that wasn't the case. Went out Saturday night instead and had a great time... returning in the wee hours of the morning. Ended up sleeping/resting most of Sunday - but hey, I don't do it often :D Stuck to soft drinks, but had a great time nevertheless. (and it was kind of OS 'cause so I had something to wear I had to sew buttons onto the inside of my jeans zipper to keep it shut. the zipper has died a death - and the jeans are on their last legs so hardly worth investing in another zip, lol)
College today, and I've yet to pack my bag so I'd best not be on here for long. Just watched a great clip of Judge Judy giving an ebay scammer what for. If you'd like to see it let me know and I'll send the link - not sure it's allowed to be posted on here.
Right, best crack on. Love to everyone and lots of hugs and best wishes,
    Kaz x

  • Morning Chums,
had a great week-end .Dinner at SIL's in Faversham was great on Saturday night .Then sunday lunch there as well. Got home last night and watched that terrific play on BBC about the chap with the brain-damage .very sad but quite enlightening. Up at the cocks crow this morning as I have to go to Bromley to take my other SIL home. Have a busy week this week college tomorrow and craft class in afternoon.Wednesday I am off to visit my friend in Dartford .We are hoping to go to the U.S in April, will find out if her husband has managed to sort our flights out for us
Thursday is DD and smallest DGS day .may take them out to lunch at Maidstone as I haven't been there since before Christmas .I feel the urge for some retail Therapy .
Friday is college again and Saturday morning I am of to France with one small grandson for his treat to DisneylandParis. It's not all beer and skittles being retired .I seem to whizz through the week like a tasmanian whirling dervish.:rotfl:

Nelski: How could I forget your adoption last May , what a grotty old mum I am, especially as the wine was flowing so freely, lol:rotfl:

Shez: genealogy is a facsinating hobby .I started my family tree in 1976 and am still finding branches even now all these years later. My paternal line I have managed to trace a direct line back to 1645 .But it was a long haul and I had a lot of 'brick walls 'to break down .On my Mum's side I got to around 1720 so far.but it is really good fun and something that you can never ever say you have finished .I have found scandals and robbers and a few very peculiar folk over the years.
I also unearthed relations in America,Canada,Australia, Dennmark,Mexico and even in London.I would reccomend it to anyone who ,is like me ,a bit on the inquizative side.
    A.K.A. Nosey.!
I have met some smashing people and most folk are really helpful when you try to track your long-lost rellies . It's a bit like doing a jig-saw with some of the bits missing !!:j
Well time I was on me bike , Take care all, and <<<hugs>>> to those in need and big smiles to the rest of you:D
  • Morning all :D

Happy Birthday Smokeybabe - Hope you have a great day :j

Well I did manage to get some of my assignment done this weekend and in all honesty once I started it wasn't as bad as I had thought. Also managed to get all the washing done this weekend so now it's just the ironing to go

Bit of a boring one for me today, was supposed to be going to college this afternoon but I'm going to give it a miss as I want to bank some flexi time so I can take a day off to go and see the Ideal home show with some free tickets we had.

Apart from that this evening consists of...... yes, you guessed it more studying!

Anyway, back to it. As always take or leave the :grouphug: as needed
You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same

Well, the pancakes are done and I feel like death warmed up. Just going to get them all out and crawl back to bed to bed for an hour.
