:hello: Goooooood Morning, fellow OS'ers

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday afterall and didn't get home until after 10 so spent far longer than I planned but had a lovely tea and it's always a treat to have someone cook for me for a change - oops hope the boys don't read that or I'll never get an enchilada ever again :rotfl: :shhh:
Got a lovely girlie night planned for next Saturday; a friend wants to borrow the computer to record a CD meditation and then we'll have a drink or two and some supper. It's even better that she's staying over so no worries about travelling. I road tested a "Naughty Vimto" (a la Charlotte Church) last night when I got home, so I'll have to introduce her to that at the weekend
:shhh: We used to live together many years ago, so it'll be like stepping back in time to how we used to spend the odd Saturday night
Picked up a reduced beef joint yesterday on my travels and today I'm going to cook it up and put it into freezer portions for making up other concoctions when needed. Still have a bag of chicken portions, so I might even get those going too.
Still need to finish off the peasant outfit, but that shouldn't take long.
Ironing needs to be done, but I'll hunt through the DVD's and see what tickles my fancy to watch while I iron, I think.
Skystar – good for you for being assertive and not pushed into an on the spot deal you may have regretted!
Pink – now you know you can freeze pancakes and save yourself a heap of time
Hope you manage to catch a few more zz’s
Donna – hope your son has a fab time!
Twink – enjoy your visitors
Kaz – have a good day at college
Jackie O – I’m sure you are going to have a super time at Disneyland Paris
Enjoy this afternoon’s craft class.
Tinkerbell – well done on getting some of that assignment done.
Moggins – good luck with the surveyors – I’m sure your home will do you justice.
Catz – enjoy your arctic treasure hunt :rotfl:
Thriftlady – well done on your weightloss :j
tired mum - fingers X'd on the job hunting front
:bdaycake: Many Happy Returns, smokeybabe (and Mr P too)
Enjoy your moneysaving Monday, free ((hugs)) today for all.

Good Morning All
Happy Birthday to smokeybabe have a good day!
Happy birthday Mr Pink Winged
Wide awake again just after 4am. No thanks to my mum's cat deciding to have a mad half hr of running around, and scratching trying to get in my wardrobe.
Day off work today for me & OH. He's taken the kids to school for me.
Got to fetch the van at 10am, ready to move the settee's. He'd better not wind me up, as Im still in a mood!
Right, best check ebay! I started a dispute against the non-paying-bidder who never turned up to collect her item! People are so rude!
Catch you later

Hello again all.
I have butterflies in my stomach because today I find out if I can exchange today & move Friday!
Had a very busy weekend packing, Grandma had my son both days so he had a whale of a time, I packed his room on Saturday and my bedroom on Sunday, what a nightmare - I've got SO much stuff. Isaac has now unpacked half of his toys that I'd packed...he's currently standing behind me brushing my hair with a bottle brush that I imagine he found in a box in the kitchen. Lovely!
It all depends on if our sellers trustees (bankruptcy!) have signed the form & posted it on Friday evening like they said they would. If it gets to the solicitors today then we can exchange today and should be able to move Friday as planned. If we don't exchange today then we'll have another day of uncertainty & won't be able to have any of our helpers, who have booked Friday off to help us move.
Ooh it's so stressful. Think I'll make some oaty biscuits today to use up the cupboard stuff (not that that's my only reason...:rotfl: )
Hope everybody is good and happy birthday to those celebrating, it's my sister in laws birthday today too. :beer:0 -
Morning all.
Didn't sleep too well last night, don't know why. Will have an early night tonight
Had a fairly good weekend, a mixture of odd jobs and relaxing in front of the TV.
Hope everyone has a good day

Hello Everyone
:bdaycake: To all who are celebrating their birthdays today. Just a quick note to say hello and please send me some motivation... I need to go and start to prepare the bathroom for repainting. MOTIVATION PLEASE.
Well, it will look lovely once it's finished. It took us ages to save the money to do it ( including new bathroom suite), therefore it will feel extra good once it's done.
Right I'm going now, have a good day you all and will check this thread later;) .SSB

Told you I was half asleep didn't I?
Happy Birthday Smokeybabe and Mr P
I popped to the cashpoint and withdrew some money that DH owed me so I must update my FU Fund in a minute. Went into the Co-op as they have loads of special offers on that were calling to me and managed to spend only a tenner so I was quite pleased with that. As we have ended the month with over £100 still in the bank and that's on top of the extra £50 I shoved into the car account I allowed myself a treat of 4 tins of Campbells meatballs (sorry I know they are complete rubbish but it's a back to childhood thing for me) on BOGOF
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
Morning all!
I have a 'free' first thing today (I alwys look forward to this week, apart from Friday when I'm working all day!!) so I have been catching up with emails and giving my room a bit of a tidy..looks as though a bomb has hit it still, but the other cover teacher for this dept will be helping out in clearing away some of the junk that is hanging around like a bad smell!
Happy birthday to Smokeybabe and Mr Pink-Winged, and am sending out lots of hugs to those who need and/or want them this morning... I've got that Monday morning feeling so am chugging down plenty of mochas whilst I try and get through this morning!! Maybe by the time I get to Guides tonight I will be awake!
Have done all of my and OHs CTs this morning and will slowly work through my emails.... I don't know how it hapens-I organise them all and then a couple of days later they need sorting again!! Grr.
I have a feeling that I have a Drs appointment this evening too so have sent OH a text to see if he knows!! Bloomin' brainfog!! I'm a little glad today though as I was in a lot of pain over the weekend.... this seems to have gone, apart from the daily pains that you get used to with FMS... I really didn't know yesterday if I'd be well enough to work today, but it seems as though I am

Happy Birthday _party_ smokeybabe
Pink You can buy some very convincing ready mad pancakes now;) Not OS I know but when you're a bit of a vampire NEEDS MUST. Do you ever sleep?
Off to bed now by order of the Daily Thread or you will make yourself ill

Typical monday morning. Slept through the alarm:mad: because I too stayed on here late last night and was still ironing uniforms and polishing shoes at 2am:o
So kids made it to school by the skin of their teeth and OH only commuicated in grunts before he left:rolleyes:
Then to top it off (drumroll) The tumble drier died a slow and painful death in the laundry room. It's only the second time since christmas:rolleyes: and the machine is less than a year old.
So I'm off to fight with the whirlygig. I stupidly took it down last week and getting it up again requires a phd in mechanical engineering.:D
Have a lovely day all.

Morning everybody :hello:
I see from the birthdays list on the front page that it is smokybabe's birthday
HAPPY BIRTHDAY :j :j
I haven't had time to post since Thursday, but I have been keeping up (just about) with reading the daily threads. I think I found and thanked all the posts saying you hoped I had a nice time with my mum, and talking about my colleague's long-awaited new baby. Apologies if I missed any
Also, to catch up from the w/end, the main points I can remember are: ((((hugs)))) Blairweech, congrats MATH, glad you had such a good birthday treat dlb, welcome back johanne and Sweet Pea, Happy Birthday rchddap1... hope I haven't forgotten anybody's earth shattering news but if I have, :grouphug:, :j :j or :T (delete as applicable
)
I have had a lovely time with my mum! She came down on Thursday and we changed our original itinerary a little bit because of the weather. We went to an opera on Thursday night, clothes shopping in London on Friday (for her, not me - I'm afraid I talked her into spending a small fortune as I'd noticed when she got dressed that morning how badly her bra was fitting her, so I hauled her into Bravissimo for a proper fitting and she came out completely converted and about £75 poorer
) then out to a concert in the evening, Kew Gardens on Saturday using the National Rail BOGOF deal for the entry fees (and we ate in the White Peaks Cafe - yummmmmy organic burgers and chips  ) followed by a quiet evening in with a DVD, and then church on Sunday followed by lunch in a fabulous restaurant (my treat, for her birthday which was on Fri). She had a fab time from start to finish and although I spent a small fortune on her, I barely noticed it as it was mainly funded by my pin money savings from January :T
The only drawback of having Mum here all weekend is that I didn't get to go to the market or make any stews/soups for this week's meals. Which means I will have to do a "damage limitation" meal plan, and no doubt end up paying more for all my fresh fruit and veg than I would have done if I'd had my regular market trip on Saturday!
Today is payday and I've had my 2006 bonus :T :j :j It's a three figure sum, and a little more than I had thought it might be - I now have enough money to buy a decent size LCD telly (currently I just have a 14" CRT portable!) but am really in two minds about it - it is sooooo tempting to forget about it and put the bonus towards the mortgage/savings
- that's what this site does to me! And the weird thing is, if I did put it towards mortgage/savings I wouldn't even feel like I was depriving myself. I've really got into the mindset of prioritising needs above wants...
Anyway, hope you all have a good day, and take a big ((((hug)))) from me if you need one
Edit: hope your move gets sorted today clairefun
Love Rzl xx
