  • Good morning everyone and Happy Birthday Smokybabe and Mr Pink (and everyone else whos celebrating!)

Just wanted to say hello before I go to School for yet another week. Why do I seem to wish the weeks away and wish for the weekend/holidays etc.??

Will be having a quorn spog bol tonight so that will be quick and easy to do.

Take care all and hope its a happy Monday!

    Morning all

I am sat here half asleep after a week of not having to get up early. DH didn't get to bed until 3 as he was watching the Oscars so I don't know when he'll get up. I have the whole downstairs to clean and tidy before the surveyor gets here. Luckily I did the kitchen last night and it's mostly muddles from the weekend.

Jackie I have tried the geneology stuff but my grandmother was a Romany and they don't appear to have kept records. As most of my family don't seem to talk to each other it's a bit difficult asking relevant questions :(

DH has also updated the computer, we now have a new internet explorer thingy and it doesn't have favourites on it. I am absolutely lost and have told him he can stuff this computer where the sun don't shine and I will stick to mine out in the dining room. Which means he will see a lot less of me :D

    Morning all.

Happy birthday smokeybabe & mr pink.

DS has an extra day off school (in service training) and I'm really looking forward to it. DD still sleeping (takes after her mother methinks!)

Healthy eating kicks in today. But, having said that, does anyone have the Nigel Slater Espresso Coffee cake recipe? I saw him make it on saturday but, in all the cook books I have, that one doesn't appear. I've got one by him that is similar but it has almonds in and I'm sure the one I saw didn't have almonds. I've decided this will be my birthday cake on saturday.

Right - got to get on with things. The house is a midden after the weekend.

    Happy Birthday Smokeybabe! :bdaycake:

Managed to get another couple of hours sleep so hopefully my bodyclock will be back to normal.

Today I must sort out the main freezer to make room for an order from Jimmys farm and one from Goodness Direct (stlll supermarket avoiding) I have no idea what is at the bottom of the chest freezer  could be a bit of a treasure hunt!

Breakfast today - oatabix and soya milk
Lunch - hm soup, guinness bread (gift from dd and lovely, has anyone got a recipe for this?)
Dinner - Some of saturdays roast pork in gravy with steamed veg.

I need a seriously large :coffee: and then I must get started.

    Have a lovely day!

  • Filled my freezer up on Friday with an order from the butcher ;) One of his special freezer packs (3lb mince, 3lb sausages, 3lb diced lamb, 3lb diced pork, 2lb gammon steaks ) plus 5lb mince, 5lb shin of beef, 3lb liver and 4 chickens. Should keep us going for a while.

Had some of the shin of beef in a stew last night. Will shred the remaining beef in it's sauce to serve with pasta tonight.

Weight loss going a bit better this week, lost 1lb of the 2 I'd put on last week.

    Have a good day all:)

Happy Birthday Smokeybabe and Mr Pink and anyone else celebrating.

I've made it work, but realising probably not the best decision I've ever made!

  • Morning all! :hello: It's a beautiful sunny day here at the moment. Happy Birthday to Mr Pink and to smokeybabe, hope the pancakes were good, Pink, well done to you - the things we do for love, eh?

Have just realised it's a friend's 50th today too and I haven't sent her her pressie :o even though I bought it BEFORE CHRISTMAS. My pathetic memory  oh well, will pack it up in a moment and go to the Post Office later on.

I've woken up full of the joys of spring and am determined to start a bit of a declutter and a clean round here today. It's been a while :o . It may also take a while :p .

    Have a good day everyone!

    Breakfast: porridge with stewed rhubarb
    Lunch: soup and ? salad/crispbreads/sandwich
Dinner: chicken pancakes - OH never did get them on Pancake Day so I'm making amends now;)
