Forum Incredibly Slow With IE

Hi folks,

Please stick with us. The techie team are working on this. The problem is isolatin gthe issue. Im using IE and finding the whole thing very speedy. So its not a consisstent problem - the team know its there, but give us time to keep on it.

It has slowed down again for me this evening, I dont know if it is because I have another window open and have youtube going at the same time as trying to browse on this site.

Its like being on dial up when I use this site. There's so many threads I want to read, but it takes an age for them to load, so I dont bother. Shame really.

I've been experiencing problems for 3 weeks now. The first week MSE wouldn't even load, now it freezes my computer for 4 minutes whenever i open it, fine on my work computer though. I hope it's sorted soon

I don’t know if this has anything to do with the problem but last weeks email from MSE dated 25/04/2012 had the following subject line:

[-SPAM-] Free dog microchip, cheap contact lenses, …

When I saw the word ‘SPAM’ I wondered at first if the email was authentic?

When I was on IE9 the site struggled for me, actually I don't remember if I had speed issues exactly; think it was more a case of the page freezing. I thought I'll post this because may be we need to make a clear distinction wheher speed is the issue or if it is a case of the page freezing because presumably they would have different solutions. I think, sorry I don't quite remember now, the freezing was to do with images.

I have had no problems for over a week now with IE9 - no freezing on first visit of day to site as before, and speed seems fine.

I had better speeds when it was improved a week or two back, but it seems to have regressed.
