Could this be anything to do with the new skimlinks (default is off for registered users, but perhaps on until you sign in)?

Nope, don't think so. I've just checked that it's turned off for me and it took me 26 seconds to move from the board to this post.
It's driving me insane!! It's worse than the days of dial-up.Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -

Using Chrome. My computer freezes the first time I visit MSE, either home page, or Forum. Freezes for up to one minute and I cannot do anything else on my computer.
One I have visited once I can visit again without problems until I shut my computer down, then when I restart it I have exactly the same problem again.
No other websites I visit are affected at all.
Never experienced anything like it ever before in the years I have been using the internet but extremely annoying.0 -
You know we have two pc monitors on wireless networkers connection status sending packs to one another and it says sent bytes, received bytes - anyone thinks such buffers have anything to do with images srtuggling to load?0
-
it's getting worse IMO. I just can't get anything done on the site with it like this.
It's really verging on the unusable the majority of the time now, so please can somebody do something about it because I can't go on with it like this - it's impossible.0 -
Weird, as I can't replicate any slowness. Seems nice and fast from here.
Also odd that a slow response from any images2.moneysavingexpert.com/* requests can manage to freeze up a PC completely for a period.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
