  • Yes, I'm out all day. I'm in bed after that time. That covers every day, all 24 hours of it.

well..if your in bed after that time you wont mind if she stays up and watches your TV will you !!!! I put myself out on a limb ..I think you are clever ..you may have some palpitation problems and researched how you could get the very most out of it ..you filled yur DLA form in to perfection with text book symptoms - and hey presto Miss Kensington has a house, a job, and an au pair! Well done :T
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)
  • Thank you Lottee! I was asking for genuine advice about having an au pair since I'm not really that experienced with it.

Sarahlouise - What can I say, I say the truth whether its socially acceptable or not. Unlike other people who come on here and say "Oooh my husband is out of work, he's really ill.... can we claim DLA...." yada yada. THAT is b****** what they're sugar coating is "how much cash can we get our mitts on by not working" but because they phrase it nicer than I do, you think its okay.

She states that she only had the monitor for 24 hours thats why she felt she needed to give it a helping hand, but in her original post she states she had it for 4-5 days ;)

Its all semantics, the point is its not on long enough to pick up any data.

Sarahlouise - Accusing me of falsifying an illness? No guilty. Accusing me of making the most out of a bad situation and getting absolutely everything I'm legally entitled to? Guilty.

  • When you blackout out sometimes only once in a month, a 5 day heart monitor will not pick up symptoms.

I'm only claiming what the stupid government throw at me and say I'm entitled to, so if it p1sses you off take it up with your local MP and get the law changed.

I do not think its OK at all - I look at each case on its merits...some are very deserving and really struggle - I have looked at yours...you are an inspiration to us all. If only I did not have every bedroom full with children I look after myself then I would be applying for an au pair myself - I would let her eat and drink whatever she liked..and if direct payments were paying for her I would only ask her nicely to help with the ironing!

It doesn;t matter where a wage comes from, a good/bad job is just that. IO expect exactly the same standard whether its Direct Payments or my own cash.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, if I was a man nobody would think twice about the fact I work and dont sit at home with "children I look after myself"
