RE Direct Payments they have you sign forms which go directly to Tax Office and also you have to give your employee a tax form AND its all audited there is a huge amount of paperwork involved.You also have to sign an agreement with the local council etc etc etc...

Miss K you're missing the point.

She isn't your carer, she is an au pair, hired and paid to care for your son.

Why should you be able to claim, using her, for care for yourself?

I'm sure you managed before she came along, and when she goes, what then?!

She could leave that scheme ...join the "government recognised lets cheat the system say we have a chronic undiagnosed condition need a 24 hour carer but can go where I like whenever I like in my car scheme" I have heard its not hard to do ....few shopping trips and a few flights of stairs and your in :rolleyes:

An au pair must be a national of one of the following countries.

Andorra
Faroe Islands
Monaco

Bosnia-Herzegovina
Greenland
San Marino

Croatia
Macedonia
Turkey


Last time I checked my Geography Australia isnt on of the above mentioned.

More to the point one of the rulls is they must only work a max of 5 hours a day, and can not claim public funds.

I think she is studying a lot about how the british benefit system can be manipulated ( if the au pair knows all this of course) I suspect the au pair has never seen Miss K blackout :rolleyes:
