The M62 isnt a busy road .. its a motorway with fences along it unless your suddenly living on the centeral reservation you need not worry about it.

Have read this thread and there is one thing I don't understand.

The direct payments are for Miss K's care, yet the payments will be funding an au pair who cares for the son?

What the hell was put down on the application?:confused:

The au pair isn't a carer is she? She is there to look after the son and not Miss K.

I don't get it

Why hasn't this thread been closed yet? I don't want to be sucked in anymore and it's way off topic. I'm stepping away from the thread folks. Night night.:D

  • Just another point on your imcome where you have made a mistake, you have the direct payments down as £300 a month :)

sarahlouise - I haven't received my direct payment yet it is only in the middle of being processed but I have been told I will get £200 a week. Obviously, if I get that much I will increase my au pairs wages to reflect that.

Originally au pair hired as just that, an au pair. For a year. From Oz.

Direct Payment applied AFTER this time, on realising I could have help because PART of the reason for having the au pair was because I wanted someone living in house with me in case of blackout as I didnt feel comfortable being in the house on my own under those circs. So apoplication is based on fact I need someone there (putting au pair aside for 1 min) pretty much all the time (except when at work.uni.asleep).

Direct Payments granted on this basis.

But hey, Au pair is already here  What should I do? I cant send her back. Hey, she can do the carers job too, she already here, and she'd cost the taxpayer £150 a week less that a professional. Everyone is happy. :j

As already said, if I accept the full £200 Ib have to actually spend it on care. And prove it. So since I'm only spending £75 of it, I'll have to either give the rest back or find a way of spending the rest.

I could pay her £200 a week but the tax/NI implications would be a mess since she has no NI number

:T :T A point I have tried to make so many times!!! She has manipulated the form and meeting etc etc to makeout she needs the care for her..but in cat it gives her the freedom, convenience and status of having an au pair - you could not make it up could you ! And for her to get a lifetime awrd because she blackout a few times a month ( ) is unbelievable!
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)

So you don't need to put on the application exactly who will be the carer for you?

You could just claim for the payments and not really have anyone care for you?

The poor au pair is doing 2 jobs instead of the one she was hired for, being paid a measly £50, in a country she doesn't know and you're whinging about her?

You take her out but you don't want to take her out?
You buy juice but whinge when she drinks it?

She's a saint from the sounds of it, poor lass.

But you have said that they said you can pay £12 an hour ...so why dont you ??? You have said in another thread that you already pay someone to do your ironing ...This poor girl is at your beck and call all the time - give her the money ...its not costing you anything!!!!!! I am sure you will be able to think of ways you an do this for paperwok purposes ..after all you are the expert;)

  • Sarahlouise please see my above reply. It is practical, it saves tax payers money using an au pair, and is convenient for me. I wouldn;t have an au pair if the D.P has been allocated first.

I dont know if its a life award, I just know I havent had a renewal form since Sep 2004 and the moneys still going in
