Just picked up the leaflet today - good variety of stuff from cheapo gardening clogs, bulbs and compost to branch cutters, chainsaws, and lawnmowers.

I can recommend the telescopic tree pruner at £4.99 - had mine several years ago and it's still going strong. The B&Q equivalent was nearer £20.

Usual Lidl thing of half the stuff coming in on the Monday and the rest on the Thursday.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

The instore leaflet I picked says it starts on Monday, with the plants and flowers not getting instore till Thurs 6th. The thing with Lidl offers is once it's gone thats it, so if it's something you really want, you need to go on the day it comes in, the earlier the better.
The box hedging etc on the 1st isn't in the leaflet, so that might well be a separate offer with things coming in on the Saturday- probably worth calling in if there's one near you.

The electric cultivator looks the same size as the mantis, although much cheaper, I wonder actually how good it would be? My experience of buying electric things from these shops is they just don't work properly and I always take them back :(

I have bought stacks of electrical stuff from Lidl and only ever had a problem with one thing - an electric fly killer as it was under guarantee, I phoned the freefone number on the guarantee slip (I had lost the Lidl receipt) and was put through to a German number (still a free call) and they arranged to send me a replacement which duly arrived 4 weeks later by courier. Can't fault them.

Lidl stuff usually comes with a long guarantee and being a German company their goods are sold with TUV guarantees - TUV is an extremely high quality mark (if you visit sunbed centres and use their industrial beds these are usually German made and all carry the TUV mark).

I buy all sorts of stuff in Lidl from gardening troughs to food (I love their gardening stuff as despite living in a flat with small balcony I can get things to fit and more importantly to grow).

Well I've bought a electric mincer and a grill, neither worked properly and we got so fed up with them, that we just took them back for a refund.... OK its not that they don't work...... its that they just don't do the job very well.

  • Lidl have a massive gardening selection next week, starting Monday 3rd March www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/i.home

Also Netto have packets of seeds for 25p a pack, or 5 for £1. I bought them last year and got really good results.

Thanks for that. Looks like they have some cheap tunnel cloches: I couldn't find them anywhere when I last wanted some.
