The lawnmower that they are offering for £200 is really good value according to the man who services my mum's mower. It's a Briggs & Stratton petrol engine, which is a very good make. He'd expect a similar branded machine to retail for double that,0

I bought the electric cultivator last year and it works well and makes nice seedbeds.:j
Don't use it next to greenhouse (a flying stone cracked a pane of glass - repaired with Lidl aluminium tape!).:o Not powerful enough to cultivate lawn unless it is rough-dug first.
What type of soil do you have?Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
My local Lidl had loads of pansies today, small & with few flowers but healthy-looking, as well as summer bulbs, shrubs & seeds (mainly veg). I bought 10 blue irises for £2.50, some hostas & a tub of Summer Flower Seed Mix for £1.50 - "a Colourful Mix without leguminous seeds". You get 100g of seeds which at the recommended density means you can sow 100 square metres with 40-odd different plants: Strawflower, Corn COckle, Sweet Alyssum, Prince's Feather, Love Lies Bleeding etc, etc .. "and other varieties". Splendid!0

Nickz - I used the Summer flower seed last year in my son's garden, very good value, would have been even better if he had watered them now & thenEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Lucky you very MSE :j:j Where there is a will there is a way - there is a way and I will find it :j0 -
They were £2.99 for 6 is Stockport. Quite tall, spindly and flowering. The ones in Aldi are the same price, come in their own pots, are smaller but more substantial, and contain different varieties. I guess it's what's available in your area...0

Saw the flyer for the ones in Aldi and was interested because it said that there were 4 varieties and the harvest was spread over the year but I could not make out what the 4 varieties were. One of them was honeyoye, got some of these from Wilko last year. Has anybody bought any and could they enlighten me please ?. It's a bit of a jaunt to my "local" Aldi and would involve a large carbon footprint not to many another tenner in the tank.
Many thanks.0 -
I have to say that I bought 6 strawbs from lidl last year, variety unknown, and they're uttlerly gorgeous, really really tasty,,better than cambridge favourite which is the other variety I'm growing.
