Just wondering if anyone has been to Lidl to buy the cheap seeds on offer from today?
If anyone has been, could you let me know what kind of vegetable seeds there were there? My hubby's father lives in a town with a Lidl (nearest one from me if about 30 or so miles away - so not good value to drive there!) and if there was anything I would like, then I would get hubby to phone and ask him to go and buy them.
With thanks.0 -
From memory [in there today]
The usual suspects, like carrots, cabbage, radish, beans, beetroot, toms, courgettes plus a few more unusual, like patty pan squash [I tried these last year, complete failure, due to weather I think], yellow bush type French beansEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
chard, runner beans as well as french dwarf beans (green and yellow), herbs (thyme and parsley (flat & curled) )0

I looked at Lidl seeds one time and they didn't seem to have much choice even with flowers. If you go to Allotments4All there is SwopShop - no money changes hands - and if you have some veg seeds you don't want anymore you could offer them for swopping with something you do want. It's worth a look. The people there are very nice - like most gardeners:D0 -
They don't have huge selection, but they do have all the basics and they are VERY cheap. In previous years I've been very impressed with the quality of their seeds in that the germination rate is very good. Today I've bought Meteor and Kelvedon Wonder Peas, Mangetout, carrots (they had 3 or 4 different varieties), beetroot and some ornamental gourds.0

hi guys, how cheap is cheap? how much were the seed packets you got shaunthesheep? What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

There were none in Stockport (Cheadle) today0

Peas and Beans were 47p and the others 28p. About the same quantities as other seed companies' packets.
Different branches get things in at different times. If you go to the Lidl website, you can sign up for the twice-weekly newsletter or search for a local store to find out what's available now and what's due in next week.0 -
Excellent - going to get my carrots from here again as they are great value. The beans are good too - the SAXA green beans. And the patty pan.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!
