I was in Lidl today they had a big (proper printed) sign up saying gardening stock is coming in from 1st March - I asked a cashier (as magazine says 3rd March) she confirmed the stuff will start arriving (in my area anyway) from tomorrow (I think they are going to stagger it with items arriving throughout the week).Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale - Hans Christian Andersen2012 savings:remortgage £156.15pcm £5 pcm insurance reduced; 2012 Running totals: £10 goodwill requests/Grocery Coupons £12:T0

Hi
Have a look in your local pound shop for the poly tunnel cloche things, I was in my local poundland at the Metro centre they had quite alot left.
Loads of summer bulbs too e.g 45 gladioli for a £1, also climbing roses in pink, yellow and white.0 -
Well I got my fig today, been toying with the idea of one for about 30 years, now the time is ripe, fresh figs next year or maybe 2010Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

I went to Lidl this evening and got a Bramley apple, Conference pear, a honeysuckle, 2 pink clematis, a flowering currant and a pot of narcissi for £15.
From Thursday they're doing coldframes for £19.99 and mini plastic greenhouses for £12.99 - hope they still have some left by the evening when I finish work.0 -

Hi Lotus-Eater,
I bought the electric cultivator last year and it works well and makes nice seedbeds.:j
Don't use it next to greenhouse (a flying stone cracked a pane of glass - repaired with Lidl aluminium tape!).:o Not powerful enough to cultivate lawn unless it is rough-dug first.0
