Depending where you live you can actually grow them outside in UK
http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/forums/wildflowers-plants-and-tree-forums/6089-olive-trees-bearing-fruit-england.html
IIRC someone had a plantation Worcester area, but it does depend very much on location, and no doubt winter cold & wet
Should you get olive fruits then the next trick would be how to get them edible, apparently they can't be used directly from the bush
But that would be a nice problem for another year I guess:rotfl:Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Thanks Farway, I didn't know you couldn't just pick and eat them! Might give it a miss until I've got a bit more experience under my belt and start with something a bit simpler.0

I have two mental dogs who will simply tear the trees to shreads, like they did last year.
This year I bought 10 meters of chicken wire 0.9m tall for £10 in a DIY store, B&Q do it, and a lot of 8 ft bamboo poles for £4.50.
If you cut the poles in two, stake them into the ground and wrap the chicken wire around each tree like this, pets cant get at them - pretty good for all plants bushes shrubs etc..
If you lay some over the ground, they cannot did up the roots either.so says another ordinary mug fighting the 1% who own the political machine grinding them down from on high...
