As usual we get ripped off in Northern Ireland. They are 99p here. Still a good price though0 -
I used lidl veg & flower seeds last year no problem. All germinated & yielded as expected. The only downside is a limited choice. So get the basics here & then Wilkinsions for their 3 for 2 offer for any specials needed.0

Hi - I was in Lidl today and they have started doing their "mini greenhouse" seed boxes again. They are the little plastic trays with a lid containing the seeds and compost. At 69p it's good value. Bought the marigolds last year and they all did well - until the slugs got them in the garden! Thought I would try Petunias this year - the garden will look great if all 80 seeds take.
Just thought I would mention this. They have flowers, herbs and vegetable varieties.0 -
I can thoroughly recommend the Cosmos from Lidl, if you dead head them they will flower from the end of July right through to the first frosts and slugs leave them alone.
Climbing Nasturtium are good for covering a trellis or area of fence.
Whoever it was who had the problem with slugs eating their Marigolds I am afraid to say they will have the same problem with the Petunias. Slugs absolutely love them.0 -
just got 2 cherry blossom trees at Lidl they are very good specimens of tree which I have found are far better and bigger than those I got at spaldings for alot more money...of which I have now got a refund on as they didn't do well and finally died so Lidl it is for me in future for plants trees and shrubs and bulbs...:D

While I've found Lidl & Aldi plants very good value.
As I have a fairly small garden, unless I knew what the numbered graft is on a tree I would hesitate to buy it as otherwise there's no telling what the ultimate height of the tree will get to.0 -

It will only get as big as you let it0 -
I have rather a large garden and these are for the bottom end so they wont bother the foundations of my house but they might bother the foundations of the 2 tier flats that have just gone up at the bottom of my garden so that now I am over looked...great...but I am not bothered as long as the trees grow and block out the view of a brick wall...nice...:D
