Just laughing about the 'wardrobe' outfit and mentioned it to my colleague and she looked slightly panicked, due to her son being at school, so we've googled world book day and it's not till Thursday 6th March, which is a week tomorrow.
It may of course be that your daughter's school is celebrating it early, but are you sure your daughter is getting the right day? Might give you a bit more time and lessen the panic, hopefully!
Soph.
Ps. good luck with the costume!0 -
My daughter's school has asked them to either go as their favourite character or in their pj's. DD is only in reception, so we are opting for the pj idea.
Has your daughter got any dressing up outfits lying around - or is she too old?

my son went as denis the menace one year. He had a red jumper with stripes of black cloth safety pinned on,black shorts and red football socks plus very scruffy hair.0

Do kids still read the Animal Ark series? They were pretty popular about 8 years ago. If so, then Mandy Hope, the main character means that she can go in jeans and a t-shirt.0

My son is in reception and is going as Charlie out of the Charlie and Lola Books (also his favourite programme). He just needs jeans with turn-ups on the bottom and a plain top on which I will stick the word "Charlie"!!!
He did want to go as Elvis as he is a bit obsessed about Elvis but I pointed out he wasn't in books!!0 -
DD (3yrs) is going as Little Red Riding Hood. She's got a red coat with a hood (one of mine and my two sisters when we were little) and we are making a basket and cakes from papier mache. Going to have fun this weekend with glue and newspaper!!"I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0

Well thanks for all your help, now I am thinking  we did settle on cinderella in rags as we had a dress that we could cut up and use...NOW I AM PANICKING in case she is the only one lol
Will have to ring school first thing :rotfl:

This was me yesterday too! Son went to his Dad's yesterday and I was going off to do late night shopping for a pair of bleedin' Y-fronts for a Captain Underpants costume. THEN I read Soph's reply! THEN I called son to see if he'd brought home a letter and yes, it's next week.
He'd have needed long term counselling if I'd sent him to school in Y-fronts and a red cape today!!!!0 -

I nearly sent DS wearing a box painted as Thomas the Tank engine today too - fortunately realised when I rang another mum yesterday! They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
One of my friends at the ripe age of 20 decided to dress as Spongebob for a fancy dress party! Cue HUGE box with only his feet and arms sticking out painted yellow with dark yellow bits for the holes!"Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."
