Hello
I do realise that there are quite a few WBD posts on here, and believe me I have scoured them for ideas, but none of them really fit the bill for DD's school's theme.
So far I have suggested a Little Miss, Mrs Pepperpot, Cat in The Hat, and Little My, all of which have received a resounding thumbs down
The only idea so far which has met with the faintest glimmer of approval is (wait for it...) Sock Monkey!!! Except I have absolutely no idea how to go about crafting a Sock Monkey costume!!!
So, any alternative (and easily achievable!) ideas, would be most welcome. Or if anyone has any pointers on how to make a vaguely passable Sock Monkey costume please, please share!
Thanks in advance

Hiya, one year I made my girl into the pink panther for a fancy dress comp.
She had pink leggings and a pink hoodie. I cut up a pillow case to make a big heart to sew on her front. Made a tail and pink ears to sew onto the hood.
Or - she was also a pipe piper(bad spelling). Basicly 2 sets of t.shirts and leggins red and yellow, cut them down the middle and join the opp colours and give the child a recorder to hold.If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -
Erm.....how about a jumper with long socks/cut off tights over the arms and tights on the bottom half with the jumper tucked in? Would all need to be the same colour. Could then put different coloured ankle socks over hands and feet? Not sure about the head though!
Edit to add a cut off tights leg for the tail sewed onto the bum of the tights?"I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0 -
I can't believe it is WBD again already.
This year my DS's are going as:
Jango Fett (Stars Wars clone bounty hunter!)
I managed to get a costume from ebay for £5 (which he has had on since it arrived pratically) and a Jango fett book from Waterstones for £2.99
And the other one is going as a death eater from Harry Potter.
As I work in a school I too have to dress up. Last year I wnet as Where's Wally.
But I could do with some help for this year. I have just bought this dress on ebay for £3.70 an was thinking of maybe Little Bo Peep or Miss Muffet.
I would need to buy (cheaply!) or make the accessories.

St George and the Dragon is probably the best known dragon tale- send him as a knight, and a balloon sword- doubt many schools would appreciate any toy weapons.:rolleyes:Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Okay, white bedsheet for DS, over one shoulder toga style. Has he any sandals - print out some wing pics from the internet and attach to the backs, although thinking about it - any footwear will do at a pinch. Hey presto! Hermes, winged messenger of the Gods!
(I snuck over from the OS board to see if I could help)0
