Thanks for the warning Stephen!
Quite encouraging to see so many victories though!!
Can i ask - could I reclaim late payment penalties from Next, and just thinking of any other late payment penalties - maybe going through my bank statements these will show up??
What amount is considered unfair??
Cheers0 -
Hi All
I have been informed that the RBS are snowed under with claims. Stick to the time scale set out in the template letters on this site and you should get a result.

To paraphrase the tagline to the website's logo above - Free to use. Free of ad's. Free of b*llsh*t.
Anyway, even the OFT’s figure of £12 is still "extravagantly" higher than the cost of automatically administering a late payment. All that happens is that the credit card company’s computer adds the charge to your account. You don't even get a standard letter.
However, as they refuse to confirm the exact cost, the law regards the whole charge as unlawful. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
hi!
im a mew poster but have been watching for ages and have had all my inspiration from this site!
I sent my 1st letter on 3/4 and received a reply with the ususal yada yada and so sent my 2nd letter to which I had no reply. I filed my claim with MCOL a couple of weeks ago and the 2 weeks is up on Wednesday for them to reply. Guess what - I havent heard a sausage!!!
Has anyone else come accross this with RBS? I have read loads of posts about people getting offers and I havent had a reply from them about my court claim let alone the letters!!!
Puurrllease reassure me someone?! I have been quite calm about the process up to now but Im starting to get a bit concerned.
Thanx

I sent my £10 for list of charges along with my account number. They have written back, 5 weeks after my request, enclosing my cheque and a reply saying they couldn't find my account with the number I provided.
I know its the right number, but they've asked me to confirm the approx dates it was opened / closed and also my previous address.
Has anyone else had this with RBS?
This may be a stalling tactic by them, but do I have to give them another 40 days from when I return the information they've asked for?0 -
Hi
I'm considering claiming back charges from my RBS Credit Card.
I have a large credit limit and I'm up to the limit.
Has anyone managed to reclaim their charges and continued to use their card? If they get stroppy can they demand all their money back?
Or can you set up a 'payment plan' with them???
any info would be very useful.. thanks
My friend was also wondering this as she owes a credit card a large amount of money and is worried.Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later datenow at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0 -

No this address is only for the Data Protection letter asking for the info/statements. Send off to your local branch for them to forward to the correct department or search this thread for the Customer Service address which is mentioned several times.0 -
I went to the original thread with the list of all the steps ie: where to send the 1st & 2nd letter and it gives this address.
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND PLC
36 ST ANDREW SQUARE
EDINBURGH

or
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND PLC
