HI
Got offer from RBS today for full amount of over £4000 from 4 closed accounts. Like most people got the bog standard letter. Now to wait for returned monies. To everyone out there stick with it you will get a result.
Best of luck.:j
Well done WH39, you say you received the standard letter from them.. did you wait the time they stated (6-7 weeks) or did you send second letter after the initial 14 day period had passed?
thanks0 -

In my case I didn't wait the 6-7 weeks, I sent the next letter after 14 days as I said I would telling them that as they had not provided a satisfactory response I was going to take them to court in 14 days (something like that, I used the templates from this site). I actually waited nearly a month after that letter (due to lack of money for the court fee) and got my offer just as I was about to fill in the online forms. Hope this helps.Claimed: RBS Charges £1949.92 + £673.63 interest, Total £2623.55. A&L PPI £461.69 + £115.50, Total £577.19
Won: RBS £1949.92 :T (Settlement, no interest). A&L PPI £577.19!!!:T0 -

Hi,
Does anybody know whether the bank has to reply within the 8 week period? I ask because the 8 weeks has been up over a week with my claim and when i rang the good people at RBS they told me they had another 10 working days to make the offer.....is this just them dragging their feet?0 -

I think they are dragging their feet. Like I said, they told me they are going to make an offer towards the end of June, if they know that, why not make the offer now - it doesn't make sense!!
JoBank Charges - MCOL – LTSB Current Account £4,603.92 / Settled £5,680.76 /Financial Ombudsman – LTSB £11,715.84
PPI - Debenhams / Settled - £2243.20We're in the money!!!:T :beer:0 -
From what I read they are dealing with claims in date order and presumably that is why they are able to say that your offer will go out on a certain date.0

Thanks for the new timeline KiLty, Looks like the offer will come in just in time for me to return to work, there goes the extravagant two day camping trip I thought I could afford while I'm off!0

Hiya
Just wondering if there have been many successes with this bank for reclaiming charges??
I sent my first letter in February and only this week received my statements!! am I in for a l-o-n-g and lengthy fight?!
Already totalled £500+ charges!!
Thanks0 -
Please read the Reclaimed Bank Charges Success Stories and Reclaimed Bank Charges Success Stories II threads.
And yes, the fight will probably be long ... and dirty. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Hello,
I sent off the No.2 letter to The Royal Bank of Scotland on 29/03/07.
The bank replied to me a couple of weeks later, stating they were looking into the matter and they would reply ASAP.
Well it's now 3rd June and I still haven't heard anything, what should I do?
Thanks
