I have just had a offer from RBs today by post, 2178 is the full amount without interest. I posted a while back to say I was going to see out the 8 week period after reading other RBS posts and it's paid off:beer:
My letter stating they were dealing with my complaint....was dated 16 April if that helps anyone.
I want to say thanks to EVERYONE who has been posting and wish success to ongoing and future claims from others.
I will post back again with the date the money gets paid in to give others some idea of the timescale.

Yeah.. Donfor! :j
glad to hear this... I'm just starting this one and hoping it's not as long winded as Monument Credit Card.
thanks for keeping us posted. :beer:Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later datenow at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0 -
Hello everyone. This is my first ever post! A quick question about RBOS - I have a Student Royalties account with them, and on many occasions have been charged a standard £10 monthly 'maintenance charge' for going over my overdraft limit. Can these be reclaimed? In this post by Edinburghlass it seem like they can't:

But I've had conflicting advice on another forum. Help!0 -

My fiancee originally claimed for these and then he was told he couldn't.
Also at some point the charge went from £10 to £12, so be careful
Good luck though, he found it very easy and get 90% of his money back, (diff of £290).0 -
My flatmate has decided to reclaim her charges from RBS but she doesn't have a cheque book for the £10 for the list of charges - She asked if her flatemate can sign the cheque and add a note on the letter stating permission for her to pay this???
Do you think this will be acceptable?
I'm also reclaiming from RBS Credit Card - will they make me pay back the whole balance?
thanks
From memory, this is how we paid???0 -
Gnomes: I don't think she is near a branch so I don't think she can do the cash thing. She was wondering if a postal order included in the letter would be ok?
I know a lot of places don't except these though. If a note was put in the letter that it was ok to use the cheque that is in someone else's name by that names person?

Postal order is not a good idea though.0 -

Wiggynut,
My wife was sent a letter asking for payment for her account statements and it said that a cheque / postal order to the amount of £5 made payable to RBoS was acceptable. Bear in mind that when buying a postal order you have to pay a bit extra for the 'privelige' of buying one! If a postal order is made out to RBoS it is traceable (via post office) and as good as sending a cheque. Keep reciept though for reference.
Donfor - well done on getting it all back. We are going to give them the time they ask for and hopefully our (well, mine at least. The wife has spent it already in her head!) patience will pay off....handsomely! Wish us luck.0 -
Donfor - well done on getting your dosh and thanks for sharing your experience.
I've a 'We're considering your claim' letter dated 7th May and I think I'll hold out the 8 weeks and wait for an offer. I'm a tad disappointed that most folks seem to be getting offered their chargers minus interest. If you send a second letter stating that you will give them 14 days to make an offer or else you'll take court action will you get offered the full amount (charges + interest). Is it worth sending the second letter or is it worth just holding out for the 8 weeks. I may be lazy and just hold out, but has anyone any experience of success with the second letter?0 -

If you asked for interest in your original letter they might offer it (but it seems as they aren't). However, if it goes to court and you win you are entitled to put the interest and court fees on top.0
