i think if they offer the charges without interest it gets settled much quicker otherwise you have to go to court, which you can of course and i think everyone has won but it takes much longer

Just to clarify, if you are offered the full amount of your charges without interest you must accept this as the interest is only applicable if you have actually started court action.
  • I have a Virgin One account that used to be our mortgage account. They kept the account open for me for use as a current account.

I have written to Virgin One, who then referred me onto Royal Bank of Scotland. I recently sent the letter threatening court and the 14 days are up next week.

Has anyone had any luck claiming from Virgin/RBS. I am claiming over £500 charged since January of this year. My account had been in credit for the previous 6 years until I went abroad and wasnt paid a full salary (work error) but didnt know. Since then they have charged almost £100 a month in fees and it just snowballing. I cant get back into credit as I still have the same amount of money going in every month but as they keep taking the fees I have less and less to live on as each month goes by!

Look forward to hearing some success stories!

    Hi
I have got to the stage where I have sent the "Letter before Action" to RBS for £5793 (exc interest). I rang them today to get an update and was told I was 15,024 in the queue and that the FSA guidelines state they have 8 weeks to respond and that I would get an offer in the seventh week.

Is this correct or do I just stick to my timeframes and lodge court proceedings next week?

    Thanks

    Stick to your time frame.
  • Thanks Gnomes

As my claim is for more than the small claims limit of £5000 - any advice on where I file my court action?
