Write again telling them you expect payment within 14 days or you will take them to court and add 8% interest. Send it recorded delivery and follow up on it should they not respond. Til its in the bank I would expect them to try some stalling tactics. Good Luck
Stick to YOUR timescale. Dont take ANY bull. DONT be intimidated. The law is on OUR side.
:o Feel free to thank me if I was a help :o

  • I received a letter back from RBS on 19/03/07 offering me the charges back minus the interest, paid directly into my account. I filled in the reply form and sent it back the same day but have heard nothing back from them yet and have received no payment!

How long do they usually take to reply?

It has now been 3 weeks. What should my next step be?

    Michael.

I'm having the same problem as well. Sent the acceptance letter just over two weeks ago and still nothing in the bank.

I phoned them up on thursday and the woman on the phone had said 10-14 days, but she said nothing on her computer saying it was going in as of yet. If it's not in on wednesday I'm going to phone them up again.

    Hi there,

I reclaimed £389.00 from RboS .After they had ignored every letter, they rang to say they would not be refunding. As I was preparing procceedings, out of the blue, I got a letter offering full amount.
I signed and returned (to branch,in person) the acceptance slip. This was on 22/03/07.

I was just wondering how long people on average have waited for their account to be credited. I tried ringing the branch, who arent really taking anything to do with it. I also tried to ring CS Head Office, but had to hang up as I waited for ages.

I am aware we have just had a double Bank Holiday, but I really could use this money, and wondered what I should do.

    Thankyou
    I don't know much, but I know I love you ....<3

RBS have generally been fairly quick at paying up so I would just be pleasant and point out that you signed your acceptance letter on such and such a date and ask if the money will be in your account this week.

    Hi,

i was wondering if anyone could help me - has anyone tried to claim from Royal Bank of Scotland? Could you please let me know how you got on...good or bad?? :-)

    Thanks :-)

yes i have put two claims in mine and was helping a family member also , they sent back statments on time, sent back all charges are being refunded, [thats great you will be thinking] now, i am sending court letter as they have not sent my money. and its well over the deadline, so here we go,thought i was going to have an easy one.
  • Just a quick tip - ring your branch first.
I only started receiving charges in the last fortnight when I accidentally exceeded my limit while away from home.
They charged me £145 for going over the lmiit by £100! I rang them this morning and £70 of that has been refunded, no hassle. I'll obviously be writing to them re: the other £75 but it was a quick and painless start.
  • There seems to be varying degrees of success with RBS and am not sure if this has been answered but I sent my first letter and the reply was received well within the time limit .......even though it was just 6 years of statements with no correspondence attached sent 2nd class mail!! I have since sent the 2nd letter listing all charges plus interest which totalled just over £7000.I have now received the reply which informed me..'currently considering your claim and will respond as soon as possible'.Do I now wait 14 days from the date of this letter or the original which would be 11th April(tomorrow)The reply to my 2nd letter has come from Customer Relations Unit in Edinburgh although my letters have all been sent to my local branch in Wales......I take it that I am now to correspond with them? Thanks in advance
