Hi everyone. Well yesterday I received 2 letters about my claim. One saying that RBS would refund £2249 of the £3468 charges (not accepting) and another from Cobblets Solicitors saying that they have acknowledged my court claim for £3468.88 plus interest plus court costs. Has anyone else had a letter from the solicitors or has it just been a letter from RBS.

I'm just about to start court proceedings against RBS for credit card charges. I've been dealing with their office in Southend - is this the same address I use with MCOL? Also, is a PO Box no. ok, or does it have to be a real address?

I've answered the question myself - the contact details can be found here
  • Hi,
yes I understand the time scales but this letter has baffled me - I thought you sent them a letter saying to pay within 14 days or I will take it to court. The letter they sent me back says they are dealing with my complaint and that they have 8 weeks to deal with it. Is this right or are they taking the mickey? Will I contact them again or just wait til next Wednesday (14 days up) and file at court?
    Thanks for your help

You ignore their letter. I got the same reply from Halifax, sent a letter that I was satisfied with their response and if they gave me a a set amount that they'd avoid court action (I gave em 14 days to reply to that 1), they replied by saying read our previous letter we'll respond by 1st May 07. When I have the money I will file my claim.

You could do what I did, or just start your Court Action etc on Wednesday, what ever you get from your bank is a way of them delaying your repayment.

Thanks for your responses. I have had a look through the Halifax posts but could not see anything regarding the 8 weeks Halifax say they have.

Can anyone tell me if I need to send the next letter now, or do I have to wait until they have investigated themselves as they say they are doing.

Stick to your own timescales, so send the next letter a.s.a.p

    Good luck

See the above posts in this thread. Do not be intimidated. You are in charge of the timescale as it is you that is claiming. The longer they can delay you the more interest they can make from your money. Ultimately they hope you get fed up and give up. We are all learning that the banks are not as powerful as they like to make us think and that we have the law on our side. Use the timescales on Martin's templates - go for it and good luck
