Hi
My daughter is claiming back her charges. She has sent in the first 2 letters which have both been acknowledged. The second reply being that they 'are looking into' her charges. How long does she give them to look into things before she has to contact them again?
Many thanks for any replies!

Greetings fellow scouser
She can stick to the timescales laid out in the templates and continue the process after 14 days, on to court action. Good luck

Hi.
Firstly, just wante to say what a great forum and some great advice. As a result of the information on this site i decided to go ahead and claim my bank charges. It totalled about £2000 which hopefully can go towards the deposit of my new car (if i can claim it back succesfully).
anyhow, i sent off the first letter with a breakdown of all my charges. This was sent to my bank and i recieved an acknowledgement letter from them saying they are investigating and would like 4 weeks to investigate. Well 4 weeks is now up and they sent another letter saying that they need a little more time and i should get a response back before May. The bank in question is Halifax.
I'm not sure what to really think of this. Is this a delaying tactic of some sort from the Bank or should i go ahead and file a claim with the courts. Maybe it is genuine, in that they have been inundated with requests to reclaim bank charges.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Regards

I'm in the same situation...... and equally am nervous about the O/D situation (charging whilst still in O/D)........ there is some feeling that if you get a loan with them to pay off O/D (different legal contract) then when they will apply pressure they will be limited only to the bank account and not to the loan - at least only until they close your account down once they have refunded all your charges............ in that case anyway you'd be able to pay back the loan with what they give you....lynzindebt wrote: »Hi there, I'm a student and currently in my overdraft at about 1300. I really want to claim back the charges as they total around 700 pounds and that would be a big chunk off the overdraft but like most people I'm worried they will demand the overdraft be paid off in full
anyone have any experiences of claiming when in a big overdraft?0 -
