I sent the first letter to the Halifax giving 14 days to reply. Heard nothing. Sent the second letter threatening court and gave another 14 days to respond. Within days I received a standard letter basically acknowledging receipt of my "complaint" and stating that the FSA gives them "8 weeks to investigate and respond to complaints". (Actually I didn't complain, but just asked for my money back). They added that they will respond "at the earliest possible opportunity" but want to "thoroughly investigate" and if they are unable to respond fully within 4 weeks they will write to update me of their progress. Are they just trying to buy time hoping a ruling will be passed that they don't have to fully reimburse me? Do I stick to my 14 days regardless and take it to court anyway? Anyone with any experience of the Halifax? Look forward to hearing from you.0

Just wondering how I should follow up this letter?
"Dear Ryan5
Thank you for your complaint (lol)
we are sorry to learn that you are unhappy with the charges debited to your bank account. Please note the complaint handling rules set by our regulator, the Financial Services Authority, gives us 8 weeks to investigate and respond to claims."
It then goes on to say how they will get back to me soon etc etc
How will I respond to this?
Cheers
