I won against RBS twice. Once on a closed Natwest account & just today on an open Tesco credit card. The first I heard of winning was when I opened the letter & cheque fell out on both occasions.

I'd filed a court claim on both. Have you gone this far?

I've sent the letter that I accept the refund as closure of the matter to the Ediburgh offices in the Pre-paid slip, just waiting for them to credit my account really, just seeing how long this takes

    Thanks

Hi Leon, I too sent off my disclaimer on the 11th march, which they didn't register on the system until the 19th march, hmmm, delaying tactic!! This morning I was told to expect to wait 10-14 working days from the day they recieve your discliamer back. Hope this helps!

Thanks, ironically I used to work for RBS as well and I know for A FACT keying an IBP (Inter Branch Payment) takes SECONDS not days like they are claiming, as you said just a delaying tactic, however we have both won so laughs on us :rotfl:

    Hi Guys,

I wrote letter 3 and sent it off to HSBC, asking for just over £1000 back and have since eagerly waited 2 weeks for their reply. I took it upon myself, just over two weeks later, to ring them and find out what was going on.

A lady from their customer services department advised me that the department dealing with my claim take 8 weeks to investigate.

Do I just sit and wait for 8 weeks? Or am I allowed to shout at them and demand that they look at it now?

    Please somebody advise!

    Thanks, Jason
  • I got the same response from HSBC so I have taken them to small claims! They owe me over £3000 and say they are going to defend the claim! they have 28 day from yesterday to submit a defence. The advice I got online was this is on your terms not theirs, you dictate the timeline. Remember HSBC has paid out over £1.3million so far. Another site to look at is Consumer Action Group.

Go ahead and take them to court, that's what i'm going to do.

  • I have three accounts with the RBS. One is a student with £1000 overdraft, one an interest paying current account with £700 overdraft and the other with with £200 overdraft. I am about to claim over £3000 pound of charges on my interest paying current account and my royalties gold account. Are the bank liable to close my student account even though i am not claiming any charges on this account. I am need to find out before i claim as this is the account with the biggest overdraft. If they can't shut this one down i can apply immediately.

This is my first post, so i am grateful for any information anyone can give me.

    Thanks
