Hi everyone, i wrote to my local branch of RBS with a template letter off this website for £1872.00, this included interest of around £380.00, RBS have wrote back offering the originally amount of £1521.00 without the interest. I have now wrote back to them demanding the interest, if not court proceedings... dont know what they will say.... worst case scenario they might decline but since i already have an offer off them.... i cant really lose. And all this, simply off the first letter.
If anyone needs to write about an RBS account, write direct to their department that is dealing with these claims, address is as follows:-
Royal Bank of Scotland
Customer Relations Unit
Retail Support
The Forthstone

Edinburgh, EH12 9LE
Also dont forget to thank Martin for this excellent site!0 -
I received a letter today too, they are offering me £311 when I claimed £900 including the £80 court costs so I will be writing my letter and proceeding to court.
Can I ask do I have to notify the court MOCL ? of this letter etc
cheers Welshy xI am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL

Interesting to read the comments below! I sent my 14 day letter on the 16th March and received today a " sorry your not happy" letter dated 19th March. The letter states they will contact me within the next 10 business days. Call me a cynical old hector but maybe they're waiting to see what happens during the first week of April?0

Good luck kate, just got my reply from the Halifax saying they are looking into my claim and have 8 weeks to investigate and respond to my complaint. Anyone out there know if this is true as the letter I downloaded from moneysaver site stated they had two weeks to pay back my charges. I am new to this site so would appreciate any help and advice. Cheers Moonbeams0

This is a standard letter from most of the banks so you need to stick to your timetable and send out the next letter where you threaten court action if they don't respond in a further 14 days. You'll find the next letter in Martin's article below and also check out the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature.

Quick question - i have already written two letters to my RBS branch and have now just actioned court proceedings via MCOL as i heard nothing from them!
Do you think i would have got a response from them if i'd written to: Royal Bank of Scotland
Customer Relations Unit
Retail Support
The Forthstone
56 South Gyle Crescent
Edinburgh, EH12 9LE
...like you did (avantiblue)? Do you think it's worth another letter to them but at this address even though it's now going through the courts?
Cheers & well done!!0 -
It won't make any difference now as you have filed your case so just hang on and wait and see if they put in a defence or not. Should they offer now do remember you will be due the court fees and the interest as you have gone this far.0
