Anyway, the stage i'm at is that i sent my lba letter and the 7 day deadline is now up. I phoned to see if there was anything happening with my claim before i go ahead and issue a court claim .
The woman just kept stating very parrot fashion that the "Financial Service Authority guidlines state that they have 8 weeks to reply. And i am about 4 weeks into it.and because they have been inundated thats why its taking so long....
So what do i do, just send the next letter??
If you sent the LBA there is no next letter! Proceed to the court stage.0 -
Hmm, I'm at the same situation, they have said the same in a letter sent just after the 2nd one was received at HSBC. I too think they are stalling so have gone ahead regardless with issuing Court Action.0

To be fair is it reasonable to expect the banks to reply in the deadlines we are setting them when it is obvious there are a lot of people sending letters and trying to claim back charges, that's bound to have a knock on effect on the time it takes them to process all these claims. I'm not defending them purposely stalling for time but some of the timescales these letters allow do seem a bit harsh.0

Hi
Please can anyone help me, I am in the last stage of claiming back my money (send off the final letter with charges).
It has been around the 14 days and I have received a letter from them stating they are sorry to hear that I am unhappy with the charges etc etc.
They also say "complaint handling rules set by our regulator, the Finanical Services Authority, gives us 8 weeks to investigate and respond to complaints."
Please can anyone advise me if this is correct as I thought I gave them 14 days.
Kind Regards

General consensus is to stick to your own deadlines. This is a standard letter people receive but you can press on with your own timescale.
Good luck0 -
Thank you for your response, do you think that I should threaten them with court action?0
-
Yes, go on to your next letter and threaten court action.0
-
Do I send this letter to my branch or customer relations department?0
-
Send it to the department that replied to you as they are obviously dealing with your claim.0

ive finally sent the first letter to RBS to get all my statements from the last six years........ive been a student for 4 of those years, so as you would expect, ive been in the blue...BIGTIME!
at one point i was being charged £28 a month every month for a good 2 years, but i didn't have any money to sort it out
im expecting my charges to be at least £2000.....i just hope they reply to my letter!
i can't wait for a letter from the bank, any other time i dread letters from the bank, cos they're usually letters askin me to ring the customer lending centre :rotfl:
onwards and upwards!0
