Hi all
I am currently claiming back my charges through RBS. I sent the 1st letter on the Jan 15th. Got a letter saying its being dealt with and the statments will be with me within 40 days. Can i push my claim through by ringing someone? I Would take less if they offered now, need the money now not in 6 weeks time. I am currently calimimg back my partners creditcard charges to. Agreed amount of lending was £600, he used then was a bit skint and didnt keep up with payments he was slammed with massive charges. To be exact, on a origional amount of £600 we have paid back £1100 and they STILL want £2500 in charges what a joke!!! I am also claiming back from his current account with Halifax, this was his credit card company too. One Big Lesson, NEVER bank with HALIFAX!!!! I am now doing all my brothers charges for Barclays Bank and Barclaycard!! I need a medal im getting confused. Anyway is there a number for the RBS i can contact to apply a little pressure as they certainly have to me in the past, what a bummer the roles have reversed!! Any sucess stories would be greatly appreciated as my brother is still slightly sceptical of this whole have your money back lark!!!

I just received my letter off RBS acknowledging my request for refund of my bank charges and they said they are looking into it. If I don't hear within the next week I will be issuing my 2nd letter.
Fingers crossed this one goes as smoothly as my first claim which was with HSBC which was successful

In fact RBS seem to be quite easy to deal with according to other users, however I guess it all depends who you get on the phone. Try again at a different time of day perhaps.0

I sent the 1st letter claiming charges and interet of about 4k and didn't hear anything within the 2 weeks. I gave them a call at the 0800 number and they were helpful and acknowledged they had received the claim but it could take up to 8 weeks from when they received the letter.
Am I better off letting the 8 weeks pass, or try and speed it along?
Anyone else been down this route?

Sent my original letter to RBS by recorded but got no reply, so sent off my LBA giving them 14 days or I will sue, still no reply. So phoned today they said they are snowed under and it could take a few weeks. I am obviously ignoring that and am about to start an MCOL. My wife has tonight double checked our statements and it turns out that they gave £350 back in charges in 2001. Trouble is I included this £350 in my original claim letters to RBS. Shall I carry on with MCOL and obviously deduct the £350, or start from square one with RBS again. Whata you guys think.............0

I'll shift this into the RBS thread as if you read some the posts in their you'll find that RBS are responding favourably if you give them a bit of time. Thats not to say a few weeks but another phonecall next week might help.
If you go to MCOL you will need to take off the returned fees as they will check.0
