I can't for definate say that anyone's loan won't be affected but it is an agreement you signed for separately. As regards an overdraft, the money will go some way to helping pay that back.
If you have a look at some of the recent Success Stories you'll find that RBS have been dealing with this fairly quickly offering the full amount back unlike other banks who start with a low offer. As sho_me_da_money has said give them a phone once your claim is a bit further on and chat to them. These are people just trying to do their job, they are not the enemy!
A lot of people post about the banks using delaying tactics etc, my personal opinion on this is they are just busy with reclaims and quite a few of the banks have set up special departments such as posted above.0 -
thanks for your advice, it is greatly appreciated! glad to hear RBS are one of the better banks for refunding cash! :beer:0

I sent my 2nd letter to Virgin One which they received on 12th and they have confirmed they faxed it to RBOS Head Office on the same day. I haven't had a response or even an acknowledgement and have phoned them today (like I was told when Virgin rang me last week) and now they arent giving timescales of when I wll hear. Therefore I am about to go thru the terrifying step of MCOL. Whch address for Virgin should I use? Virgins address or the RBOS Head Office one quoted above?
What if I get an offer in the interim cos its going to cost me £30 to put claim in?
Any ideas anyone??0 -
Hi guys,
I am currently attempting to claim £3,400 plus interest and sent my first letter asking for the money back quoting 14 days response time. (special delivery)
The 14 days is up tomorrow and have heard nothing so am preparing the 2nd letter to send. However, some people have said that RBS have a new department who are dealing with this. Is it worth calling them to see if they have received my claim and it is waiting to be investigated? Or just send the letter and await any response (or lack of) from that?
Thanks
ps Cheers for all the info here....great stuff0 -

Hello,
i have been floating about on the sidelines for a bit.
I have my statments and now loging the dates and figures to get my total.
I am with RBS and would like some advice.
i have a Charge(CHG) of £30 on the 22/06/01 but wat is strange is that the particulars part of the statment stated CHG to RFND CHG this ocurs 3 times £90 in total. my balance at the this point is £78.10 after the above transactions pluss an £84.70 bank loan payment my balance is £53.40.
I believe that this is a process to prevent the charges being applied as i had settled by accepting a loan but the balance does not make sence.
can anyone please advise what i should do ?
i don't want to claim more than i should and get done for fraud!! however i don't expect that RBS would be happy to inform me what is going on as it would take spending an hour with one of their staff.
thanks in advance.
