    Lots of people have and I'll just pop you into the RBS thread where you'll find other users at the same stage.
  • HI everyone, this is my first post, I have just requested a list of all the charges incurred with RBS in the last 6 years, I see most of you have had success with getting some or most of your money back from them, but is it still working that way or are the banks winning now? Just wondered before I go ahead with the letter and stand no chance of getting anything back!! I deal with the RBS branch in Parkhead Glasgow, has anyone else dealt with this situation with them? any info would be much appreciated

    Thanks
    Caroline

    Think they have probably sold off my debt with RBS, because keep getting letters from different debt collecting agencies. My question is therefore will they send the payment to them to repay this (which is fine), or forward for me?
  • thanks for your reply - all the more to claim back :D

    my situation at the mo - have received 2 lots of statements and awaiting 2 more (we had changed branch previously).

    Should I just claim for what I have as the outstanding 2 statements are only for one year or hang fire to check if there are any I can reclaim? Started this process way back in February and becoming impatient!

    Also should I send my request for reclaiming charges to my local branch or to the main one in Edinburgh?? and if its Edinburgh might someone have their address?

    Thanks again

    Wait for all statements. As far as I am aware, when you sign the offer letter you are also agreeing that you will not claim again in the future. As for posting, just pop the letters into your branch. That's what I did and they sent them through their internal mail (saving me postage - only 34p but hey, it's money in my pocket and not Royal Mails!! lol) and they got to where they needed to. If you wanna be sure of the letters getting to the right place, send them by recorded delivery or special delivery. That way you can see who signed for them after 3 or 4 days if you keep that tracking number.

    It doesn't actually matter which branch you are dealing with as it will be a department dealing with all claims and yes most people are getting their claims sorted within the 7/8 weeks RBS allow.

    Quite often letters are sent from DCA on a nominal fee basis. RBS pay about £1.50 per letter you get sent. If your letters are coming from different DCAs its unlikely to have been sold on just yet.

    Anyway, your claim is against RBS. Even if the account has been sold on RBS may forward part or all of the payment onto the DCA which reduces your debt. Either way claim as much as you can :)
    Got It & Spent It :dance:
    IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)
    MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)
    I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)
    CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)
    BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)
    On Hold :mad:
    A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)
    BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)
    BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)
    ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)
  • Got up this morning and to my delight I found 2 letters from RBS for my 2 claims. One for £4944 and one for £2516. Just gotta sign em and send em off (Special Delivery) and hopefully I will be £7,460 richer by the weekend. If not this weekend, then next!!!!! Will post on the success thread when I'm paid and will also post here to give newbies and anyone just sending letters off an idea of the timescale my claims took. A big thank you to Martin and all at MSE and good luck to all.
  • I started to claim my charges back in January from Royal Bank of Scotland, They sent me a offer end of feb which I didn't agree too, as in the time it took for them to make an offer they had added additional Charges to my Account. I have since called them, and they informed me that they would be sending another offer letter - I have not receive any letters from them, even through I have sent them Letters.
    I am now at the stage where I should be taking them to court - but I have recently moved house and the statements have been lost - should I ask for them to be re-sent which will be another 40 days? in which time are they likely to take me to court?
  • That's encouraging f.spiders! any idea what you will do with all the £££?? Well done!

    Called RBS to get an update. Was met with a rather abrupt lady (sure they are stressed), who told me that they had 8 weeks and I should hear then. I said that the letter I had told me 6-7 weeks or sooner if possible. She said, maybe but, we are allowed 8 weeks so the next step is a letter from us with details. Is this correct? Does this letter make an offer? Any advice appreciated. Complaint dated 11th June.
