Recieved my offer letter when I got home last night. Full amount less interest £3909. Does anyone know the fax number you can use to send your reply through to, as Royal Mail are on strike today and other days, don't fancy it getting stuck in the post Royal Mail are not the best when they are not on strike let alone then they are.0

Have just phoned the customer relation dept and they say they need the original back, strange when people have posted on here about faxes being sent from the branch. However I will send Special Delivery, Royal Mail are still guaranteeing that for Monday. Just have to sit back and wait for the money to be paid in now.
RBS have been easy to deal with sent 1st letter on 1st May, 2nd letter on 17th May, then after reading the posts on here about waiting and they will deal with and pay up just waited (made a couple of phone calls just to make sure). Sure enough offer received after 8 weeks and 1 day.
Lots of luck to anyone else trying don't give up.0 -
A final word from myself, as mentioned two days ago I received my offer letter for the full amount on Wednesday this week, to which I posted my acceptance first class the same day. I was astounded to find that RBS have put £4225 into my current account today (2 days after posting) by Inter Branch Payment. All in all it has taken about 9 weeks from start to finish.
Although I didn't use the guidelines on this site to claim my refund (I used the BBC version) I took great heart and encouragement from hearing all the advice and success stories on this forum. I'd like to thank you all and wish those still claiming every success.
As myself and many others have said, give RBS the 7-8 weeks, be polite and calm when contacting them and they do seem to be very responsive. I suppose we should give RBS some credit for their customer relations in this instance.
Good Luck!0 -

Hi
This is my first post, so please be gentle. I am trying to claim my charges back from RBS, before I attemp the Abbey and credit cards. I have see somewhe a list of what you can and can't claim back - i have skimmed through the thread, but can't see it anymore. I would be really grateful, if someone could point me in the right direction - I realise that this will probably result in someone repeating themselves, but i would be extremely grateful.
On a slightly different note... is it wise to tackle one lot of charges at a time? Or doesn't it matter?
Thanks in anticipation for any help!0 -
You'll find the info you need and more in the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature.
I would start with one at a time then maybe start another so they are running at slightly different times. RBS are pretty good at sending out an offer of your full charges if you give them the time they ask.0 -

I would send out all letters asking for statements at once (but bear in mind that the £10's can soon add up so ask for what you can afford - I don't mean to be patronising there by the way) and then you can attack them as they come back otherwise you could be going for ages given that each bank will most likely wait 40 days to send them out. It's up to you then depending on how organised you are if you want to persue more than 1 claim at a time. Keep all copies of letters sent on your computer so that you have dates and such like to refer back to. Log calls (who you spoke to, what they said etc) on a seperate worksheet. I would also advise sending letters by recorded delivery, that way you can see on the RM website who signed for your letter(s). Don't be afraid and go for it!!!!!0 -
I've got a letter from Mint (?) about my RBS card... I didn't know they were linked???
I sent them a letter saying no to the partial offer which was for £65 but I noticed that they missed several charges off... nearly £100 (I don't have the exact amount in front of me right now). So I scanned the statements that they had missed off... there is definately no refund of these charges and they have the same description... late payment or overlimit fee.. so obviously they were included in my claim.
the letter that I've got back says these were refunded but my statements don't have any refunds for these one!??!?!?! and I have checked several times... and is obvious when something has been refunded.
They also send a return payment of £10 is not included as it is under £10??? isn't £9.99 under £10?
They are offering £135.68 back which includes interest.
I'm thinking that I should accept this as I'm worried that the 'missing' charges are true and if I give the wrong amount in the claim then I could 'lose' all of the claim.
I'll have another look at my statements tonight and see if I suffered some kind of brain meltdown!
I have two other claims going through which are more than this one so something is better than nothing!Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later datenow at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0
