Edlass, your right it is a Royalties Gold Account and yes there is a monthly fee but if i can remember correctly, the monthly charge was no where near £24.00.
Now the following is really gonna mess things up because when going through my statements, my account status changed from Royalties Gold Account to Interest Paying Current Account. I do recall, cancelling the Royalties Gold because i could not afford it. When my account became an Interest Paying Current Account i see the exact same charges. Below is an example of the charges i filtered when the account became an Interest Paying Current Account:
Interest Paying Current Account
INT TO 08JAN A/C 10012735 £3.34 24JAN 390.07DR
CHG TO 08JAN A/C 10012735 £30.00 24DEC 390.07DR
CHG TO 08JAN A/C 10012735 £3.18 24DEC 426.59DR
INT TO 10FEB A/C 10012735 £5.07 25FEB 397.24DR
CHG TO 08FEB A/C 10012735 £15.40 25FEB 397.24DR
CHG TO 08FEB A/C 10012735 £3.12 25FEB 397.24DR
CHG TO 15JAN A/C 10012735 £2.25 25FEB 397.24DR
CHG TO 15JAN A/C 10012735 £3.28 25FEB 426.44DR
INT TO 10MAR A/C 10012735 £4.55 25MAR 233.49DR
CHG TO 08MAR A/C 10012735 £20.00 25MAR 233.49DR
CHG TO 08MAR A/C 10012735 £3.07 25MAR 233.49DR
INT TO 08APR A/C 10012735 £4.64 24APR 380.98DR
CHG TO 08APR A/C 10012735 £20.00 24APR 380.98DR
CHG TO 08APR A/C 10012735 £3.00 24APR 380.98DR
INT TO 08MAY A/C 10012735 £4.78 24MAY 324.84DR
CHG TO 08MAY A/C 10012735 £20.00 24MAY 324.84DR
CHG TO 08MAY A/C 10012735 £3.00 24MAY 324.84DR

CHG TO 08JUL A/C 10012735 £20.00 24JUL 481.96DR
CHG TO 08JUL A/C 10012735 £3.00 24JUL 508.78DR
That being said, how messed up does this seem now?
Lets go with the original idea and say the charges were for a service charge for a Royalties Gold Account. If that was the case, why were the same charges being withdrawn after my status went to Interest Paying Current Account?
I will call RBS and find out the fee for the Royalties Gold Account, which im 99% sure was £12.00 per month. If that is the case, am i allowed to claim back the extra £12.00 that was being deducted from my account when it was Royalties Gold and in addition to that am i right in assuming that i can claim back all full amounts when my account became an interest paying current account.
Thanks edlass.0 -

Ask them why there are two chgs amounts per month and what are they for.0 -
Ok just called RBS, she said, when the account was a Royalties Gold Account, the CHG under INT was comprised of the following 2 things:
1. Royalties Gold Fee
2. Service Charge for Exceeding the agreed overdraft limit aka Unauthorised Borrowing Fee
When the account became an Interest Paying Current account, then the CHG under INT was:
Service Charge for Exceeding the agreed overdraft limit aka Unauthorised Borrowing Fee
Now that this puzzle seems more clearer, am i allowed to claim any of the above back?0 -

Right, you can't claim back the fee for having a Royalties account so you would need to take off that amount from the totals during that time.
So saying that it appears they charged you £12 (without looking back) per month for exceeding the agreed overdraft limit which is claimable.
Can I go to my paying job now please0 -
nooooooooooooo!!
Nah im joking, you can go after this one last query beautiful.
Just for clarification, all i need is a Yay or Nay to the following:
1. when my account was a Royalties Gold Account and i was being charged £24.00. If i subtract the gold fee (£12 for arguments sake), the other £12 i can claim back?
2. When my account became an Interest Paying Current Account, and i was being charged between £5 - £30, i can claim all these back right?
3. And last but not least, since i completely abused the way i handled my account i.e. being overdrawn every single time, am i still allowed to claim?
If you can provide me the answers to the above, i will leave you to do whatever you want and be out of your hair forever.
i just want to say a BIG THANK YOU for all your assistance. You're a diamond.0 -
