Psychic readings....your thoughts?

  • Has anybody had any actual examples of genuine psychic abilities?
  • I believe the $1m is still up for grabs if anyone can prove they're psychic under scientific test conditions...

I think it's likely to never be claimed personally.

I have to say I'm an atheist so I think it's a waste of money. Each to their own though.

Yes, they stipulated that the people to receive the 'message' couldn't speak! Whereas as mediums need a voice - to make a connection. After all how would you feel if when you 'phoned someone - it got picked up but no one said 'hello' - you'd soon get fed up of talking to yourself.

And on a previous one on TV, they lined someone up, but instead the medium gave a 'message' to the cameraman - which he agreed was accurate, but of course you guessed 'they' wouldn't accept that.

I have never been sure, I have had some friends that have been in awe of how accurate the reading is and still talk about but others that have been bitterly disappointed, so not sure

    .

    what a silly comment

Phones are a regular method of communication which require people to speak. Psychics claim to be able to read thoughts and hear things that nobody else can. They dont need to speak to read these. What the scientists have demonstrated is that if you take away the ability to cold read, psychics can not perform the things they claim to be able to do. If they had true psychic abilities, they would be able to.

However everyone knows that they do in reality need to speak, because it enables them to make generic comments and then feed off the small reactions in the person that they are reading. AKA cold reading.
  • If you were that desperate to get the message across, for example, you could write it down, seal it and give it to the recipient.

Not one of these con artists have ever collected the million dollars on offer .....

James Randi, a.k.a. The Amazing Randi, magician and author of numerous works skeptical of paranormal, supernatural, and pseudoscientific claims has for about ten years offered "a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power

It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

People often believe what they want to believe, especially when they've paid hard earned cash for the information.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
