For those using the "new posts" it is a lot clearer and easier now that the thank you posts have been reduced there is no longer the need to refresh the page every minute or so, which I find a relief.
I agree that it is not perfect but I do think it is an improvement and the boards are clearer.
It will be interesting to see if the update tomorrow makes things any tidier as well as taking out the current glitch. In my new basket: A slightly whiffy blanket; Racy’s 2nd favorite jumper; remains of a slipper; 2 sticks (1 chewed); bouncy ball collection (4); Racy’s iPod :shhh: and a large sock (found under Racy's bed)0 -

Excellent idea - if, as it seems. the feature is here to stay then making it unobtrusive would be much, much better.0 -
I'm not sure I like all the extra information under the username/avatar.
just seems unnecessary to me0 -
MSE_Martin wrote:Sorry folks it is here to stay. Changes are always 'awful' at first. Very few things have ever been welcomed. I like this one
1. Because it means no more 'thank you posts' which are much more disruptive than one persons thank you at the bottom
2. Because people like to say thank you and its nice to do
3. Because it enables people to scan the posts with most thank yous
If you don't like the thank you display - if you switch to the linear or hybrid view modes it disappears
martin
It's not just one persons thank you and it was only a problem in a couple of boards
People who don't like this will do it anyway.......or worse not say it at all
What does it matter which posts have most thank yous ..................that's like the old rating system, you can't make people use it properly and they won't
plus it makes the forums harder to read not easier
just my opinion......................
I'm already in linear and it's not disappearing0 -

erm, that's what he said...MSE_Dan wrote:Unfortunately at themoment it comes up with a wee error on the screen after doing it. This isnt a problem and you're soon redirected, but we're working out how to fix it0 -

Just looked at some of my posts - None of them have the new "Thanks" button.
Any one care to venture an explanation?Do It To Them Before They Do It To You

It's like the report abuse triangle......you don't have either on your own post:D0

So on my post above, you all see "Thanks" where I see "Edit"
Correct?Do It To Them Before They Do It To You
