Well this won't get many thanks..........what a horrible function the thank you is .......................the forums look a complete mess when your reading them.

The flow of the posts is interrupted by a band that lists who said thanks and when:rolleyes:
Let's hope it doesn't stay,it's unsightly and unnecessary IMO .

    I'll thank you.

It really depends on if everyone goes around thanking everyone for everything.

It'd be better if they limited the amount of thanks you could give out - e.g. 3 in a day - then the thankyou's would be really valued.

Maybe we could suggest that to the creator of the hack for the next version

this was a reply I made earlier in the thread to say I thought it was a good idea ....................I take it back ................it was a bad idea, what I thought would happen was something discreet ,not a banner between posts:o

That makes more sense.....................can you imgaine what the freebies board is going to end up looking like!!! Surely there's a way to hide them if you don't want to see them???? Then you could click them on if you need to etc.

even if you limit it sra ,you still will end up with banner posts all over the place ..........................it makes the forums untidy and unslightly and hard to follow.

Sorry ,just don't like it at all.

i agree traf, the site is allready starting to look a mess, boxes and threads popping up everywhere, people clicking thanks by mistake, people thanking the post prior rather than the op, people thanking others for the sake of it,

ok so its a new toy but will still be open to abuse and makes the threads unsightly (stole your word :P).

i for one hope its not a permanent feature, or can be tweaked quite a bit

    My opinion:

-It's a good idea, but the number of thanks you have to give out should be limited a bit.

    - I don't like the banner between the posts. It would be better if there was a small icon at the bottom of each post which when you held your mouse over it, popped up a list of who had thanked the poster. Or something else a bit more discreet. :)

couldn't agree with you more, Moonie. It looks a mess and it's bound to be abused and over used. I sincerely hope it's not permanent too.
